"This little Pudding Shop hidden away behind popular Italian Mediterranean restaurant La Cucina di Ciro in Parktown North is run by a vegan chef, Zeus and owned by Ciro and Clara, owners of the main restaurant. Zeus himself is Vegan and he is incredibly clued up. He knows a lot about veganism and he cooks and bakes incredible vegan items. There are also meat dishes on the menu but they are prepared in a different area. The Chocolate cake is absolutely phenomenal. So is the coconut french toast which is some sort of cake coated in coconut and served with home made almond milk ice cream! yum! This restaurant is accommodating, a little hot inside in the summer, but beautifully decorated and unique. I would also recommend La Cucina di Ciro for dinner they will always provide a vegan option for you, but the waiters are very busy at night, so just specify what you don't eat. Ask Ciro himself for a recommendation off menu. Soup is often vegan, hold the cream or yoghurt decoration. It's such fun to be able to order vegan waffles and ice cream or imaginative French toast for breakfast!"

"Fruits and Roots is vegetarian cafe and healh food store where the employees understand what vegan means. As others have already mentioned in their reviews, the buffet is quite nice and almost exclusively vegan. They also have the regular cafe menu with plenty of vegan options, including pizza, burgers, wraps, salads, fresh juices and smoothies. Noteworthy finds in the store section at the time of this review are vegan ice-cream, organic raw sprouted sunflower and pumpkin seeds, coconut milk kefir and Irish sea moss gel in jars (which I 've never seen sold in a store before)"

"This friendly cafe with a small shop is a good place to grab a raw juice, freshly frozen (not dried/powdered) spirulina slushie, along with a decent series of vegan smoothies, wraps, burgers, bowls, pizzas, etc... There is also a daily lunch buffet that usually has some good food. Just make sure what you order as some items contain eggs, milk and/or honey. The camp site has vegan cheese and yogurt; water kefir and combucha; vegan meat products; dried fruit nuts, seeds, grains and beans; freshly frozen spirulina and even Natto (traditional Japanese fermented whole soybean); among others."

"This little restaurant in Cyrildene is a jewel. The restaurant has been feeding those in the know absolutely delicious, fantastic meals for years. It is often fully booked so reserve a table per day or two in advance, but sometimes you can and they can sit you. People come in hordes for outliers. There are so many vegan options that you do not know what to do with yourself, so let me guess that you try the Tom Kha coconut milk soup, or the Tom Yum Je for a starter. The Mains are a little harder, because everything I've tried is delicious. I always go back to Pad Thai Je. My partner always eats the green curry spicy and saucy. Watermelonis juice is a must or coconut juice. They seem to mix fresh fruit with ice and some sugar to make a spectacular cold drink. Avoid the filled juices or the iced teas because these are unbearably sweet. Unless you like it. The waiter work often works alone and I think that the kitchen is a four hotplate type of joint, so sometimes food and service take a little longer than in other restaurants. Waiting is worth it, and the waitress is a beautiful lady who writes bills by hand, so no tantrums. I bless the Tom Kha Je so much that I said partners often move there. You'll love it too!"
