"On our first night in Marseille, my husband and I were wandering around trying to locate a restaurant. We couldn't find the street that we were to turn on, and after asking a number of people who were unable to help us, Agnes, the co-owner of Nour D'Egypte was kind enough to stop and assist. We didn't make it to the place we were looking for. Agnes told us that she had a restaurant that was just a block away from where we were. So we went to Nour D'Egypte instead. We were not disappointed. The dinner was wonderful, with her assistance, we tried a sampling of many of the items on the menu. We enjoyed it so much that we returned for brunch on Sunday. I overdosed on the in-house made desserts. I barely had room for the savory items. Do try this warm, lovely and inviting restaurant."

"We booked Bistrot 13B last minute for our final dinner in Marseille having realised one of our other choices were fully booked, which in hindsight was probably a blessing! I emailed Bistrot 13B for a booking around midday and got a reply a few hours later with a confirmation. Service is excellent and you can see the cooks working in an open kitchen. The menu is displayed on a chalkboard and, considering we only spoke English the waitress kindly explained everything to us. We ordered the salmon for starter having seen the reviews, which I did enjoy. Personally the combination of flavours were great, I would have just liked a larger quantity of salmon on the plate. For mains we ordered the steak and fish mains. The fish was to die for! The flavours go together exceptionally well and the rice compliments the dish perfectly. Would happily return just to have this again. Of course it was cooked perfectly. The steak was huge and cooked reasonably well but very well seasoned which added to the dish. For dessert we ordered the mousse, which was very rich in flavour and really what a mousse should taste like. This along with some water and a G&T cost approximately £70 so of good value considering the quality of the good. Some of the best service we received in Marseille. Don't miss out on this place."

"If you are taking a break from French food, Lebanese is a good alternative. This restaurant is located along the main Corniche near Prado (Bus route 83, between Plage Roucas Blanc and Admiral Muselier stop, closer to the latter). It is a bit hidden because its next to a construction site, up some steps, away from the street. There is a pizza place on the corner. Food was fresh and excellent -- and price was reasonable. Meal included 12 different items (grape leaves, meat pies, humous, tabouli, etc) and traditional mint tea or coffee. They have a nice sit-down interior area with table cloths, etc, and a more informal area under a tree in the front."
