"My husband and I recently had take-out from the Mr. Sushi at the Lynn Valley location. We had dinner at the Mr. Sushi on Lonsdale twice over the summer and had a great experience both times. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case with our take-out order....We ordered tuna nigiri and we both had a couple of bites of tuna that had a different taste and texture than the tuna we are accustomed to having. As a result, we didn’t finish the tuna nigiri and threw it out instead. (We also ordered a couple of other dishes. These were fine – not great but okay Given our experience with the nigiri, we likely won't return to this restaurant"

"Both the salmon teriyaki and the beef teriyaki were as expected with generous servings at a very good value. The "steamed vegetables" were at best a garnish; we would have liked more. Next time Ill add some salad or edamame on the side."

"Have been dropping in quite often after a movie nearby. This place is a real hidden gem, slightly off the main area but something to keep in mind. Food is excellent whether it be the sushi, real crab California rolls, kukuni or the grill sable fish...all excellent. Comfortable setting and attentive staff, never too busy or too loud after a movie. Keep it in mind!!"

"My husband I recently had dinner at Tawara Sushi. The service was wonderful and we liked the ambience. I ordered the tuna poke don and tuna aburi, and my husband ordered the "Tuna Lover" which was a selection of tuna nigiri, including aburi.The tuna poke was spectacular - the best I've ever had - and the nigiri was all very good. We will definitely return, and soon. I am looking forward to having the tuna poke again and ordering some of their other dishes."

"We were travelling through Vancouver from Whistler back to Seattle. We stopped by the suspension bridge along the way and it was dinner time when we were ready to leave. We stumbled upon Nobu through Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. Their food was excellent- we ordered the California rolls, shrimp tempura rolls, Alaska rolls, and of course the edaname... Great restaurant run by husband and wife. Great service and great food."

"We entered the busy dine in restaurant at 6:30 pm last night to celebrate a friend’s retirement. Two hours later no patrons including our group were asked to show vaccine passports. Avoid Jade Garden if proof of fellow diners vaccinated is important to you."

"We have been eating here for years. It was our favourite place but we will not be returning due to the new prices. Our last visit was about August/17 but sInce our last visit (and Feb/17 menu) to present (Oct/17), the price increases imposed are...obscene. For those readers who still have the previous menu, do the Math! The majority of the menu items have gone up between 25 60%. For our typical modest order we are looking at a 44% increase for the same items after adding the extra tip tax on top of the increase. A nominal increase is understandable but this is just greedy. We are sad to be boycotting this place but we can’t justify the extra cost; there are 3 other sushi places within 5 minutes from this one. So sad about this."
