"Visited on New Years Eve whilst staying in Bournemouth. Very good meal. Set menu included meze,main meal, dessert and tea or coffee for £35 which was very good value for New Years Eve. Lively atmosphere with music and belly dancing."

"We went to Retro on Saturday for what will probably be the last time. The service was poor. If you want anything here you have to ask for it several times, but that's no guarantee you'll get it. I felt sorry for the young woman who was helping out I don't think she'd been trained. Removing the plates from the previous course before bringing the next one seems obvious, but my friends and I found ourselves doing that job. The food was average at best the special was rice with what appeared to be lumps of roast chicken plonked on top of it and little else. The portions are not generous so we asked for and got extra bread to make up for it. I asked for Lebanese beer they didn't have it only Bud. I asked for the Bud I didn't get it, we asked for water we didn't get it we asked for the candle to be lit (three times it went out a metaphor for the evening). At least this time they had Lebanese wine which was good. Like other tripadvisor critics we noticed a bloke going in and out with shopping. Odd!. We had a pleasant evening but that had everything to do with the company and the wine and little to do with Retro. We first went there back in 04/05 and have been there at least six/seven times over the years. It used to be good. Sadly last Sat was the last time."

"Busy sunny weekend. Staff could not cope. They had ran out of Half the menu! Manager that day was rude! No plates for salad bar! Even ran out of salt!!!! Basically it is in a prime location opposite the beach and pier so surely they should be prepared for busy times! It seems not. I shall never recommend this Harvester. As not much choice to choose from on the beach front then people have to use it. We did try it again on a quieter day but even then the tables had not been cleared, they were dirty, no toilet paper and I could go on as the list is endless. Hugely disappointed in the Harvester chain for allowing such disgracefully restaurant to be managed so badly"

"Had a delicious pizza with avocado, pineapple, mushroom and vegan cheese. my man had the Greek pizza. we also had bbq tempeh bites to begin and brot and oliven to share with our small child. all very nice and great to have so many vegan options. they also had vegan desserts, but we were too busy trying. we also had a craft company that was good. only on the bottom was that it was a bit expensive, but the service was good."

"Great food, good service. on Saturday to lunch, had a booking, but was not really necessary as only another party came while we were there. had a selection of melodie and wine. eating is at the awarding similar offers, but was excellent and deserves the price. the restaurant is clean, well furnished with a beautiful atmosphere. only minor complaints would be that the toilets, while clean, with a total power, as they were a little worn and not in harmony with the well kept condition of the rest of the restaurant. all in all an excellent meal and would return happy."
