"I love this place! my man and I love Greek eating and were disappointed by the trendy Italian place recommended by our hotel in the night before. I have made some research about restaurants that were not in the tourist part of the city and came to this jewel. so glad that I did it! when I called a reservation, they said they were fully booked, but we are ready to dinner and decided to press our luck. we came a little after 7 and fortunately they could find us a table. the waitress spoke English and explained how the menu worked, and we ordered some tasty house glistening Greek wein (suriously delicious a few appetizers like feta red pfefferbrei and the Greek sausage, and then we split a large Greek salate and half a pfund grilled otopus with a side grilled groomed. every table comes also with pita, brot, olive oil and balsamico with honey. we cloged and everyone had two glasses of wine. We spent $140 Canadian dollars, which are about $1008 US dollars. we had spent more in the night before for mediocre eating, only a drink everyone, and left the restaurant hungry. this place is exactly what they would expect from a Greek tavern – white and blue flowing, domestic feelings, lively with Greek music and friendly service, and delicious savory eating. beautiful that we have discovered this place in quebec city!"

"We had heard that Avenue Cartier had many nice restaurants, so the four of us walked there from our hotel in search of a nice restaurant for dinner. We wound up at Cafe Krieghoff which had high dining ratings. We sat in the back of the restaurant, conversed, reviewed the menu and made our selections. Three had salad dishes, which were featured on the menu; I had the day's special: Tandoori chicken. My wife asked what turned out to be a prescient question: "Why would you order an Indian dish in a non-Indian restaurant?" I responded, "Because it's the day's special and they obviously must know what they're doing." Wrong! I was expecting a quarter of a chicken -- or cut pieces -- with that beautiful red Tandoori kiln-baked color. What appeared were 7 small flat medallion pieces of grilled chicken with a brown something on top. The chicken was dry and tasteless. Accompanying the chicken on the plate was a small cup of white rice -- tasteless with no sauce or seasonings. Third, several pieces of steamed cauliflower and carrots. The cauliflower again was overcooked and soggy. No color on the plate except for the carrots; no taste. I barely touched the meal. When the waitress saw I at the end of the meal that I had eaten very little, she asked if there was anything wrong. I told her the plat principal was terrible. A few minutes later the maitre di (or owner) came to the table and again asked if anything was wrong. I replied, "If I owned a restaurant I would be embarrassed to serve a meal like this to my customers"; and then, I explained the deficiencies. She said she would see what she could do. Ultimately, they subtracted the cost of the bottled water for me and my wife. Perhaps the stars need to be aligned specially to yield such an unpleasant dining experience, or perhaps one simply should not order Tandoori Chicken in a non-Indian restaurant"

"Première visite chez Morena lundi passé pour le lunch. Mon amie et moi avions hâte d'essayer l'endroit dont on avait beaucoup entendu parler. Devant la porte du restaurant, il y a une ardoise qui indique le menu du jour. La serveuse nous explique plus tard qu'il y a toujours une viande, une salade, un poisson et une pizza dans le menu du jour ainsi que deux choix d'entrées, une soupe et autre chose. Ma copine prend le velouté de tomate et la pizza au saumon fumé et aux câpres. Elle trouve la soupe très salée, mais la pizza est bonne. Je choisis la terrine de chevreuil et les fruits de mer panés. La terrine est excellente, mais la panure des fruits de mer est extrêmement molle et fade. Le service est vraiment long, mais la serveuse est sympathique. Les prix me semblent corrects. Points positifs, l'emplacement, car c'est situé sur la superbe rue Cartier. De plus, comme il s'agit d'un resto et d'une épicerie fine, l'endroit nous donne le goût de rester ou de revenir pour faire quelques achats. Je vais laisser une deuxième chance à cet endroit en espérant ne pas être déçue une autre fois."
