"I walk past The Deck Cafe every morning and it always looks inviting so I met with a friend for breakfast on a Monday morning mid June. I ordered 2 breakfasts of Bacon and Scrambled eggs and coffees. The female barista helped the her female colleague put the coffee order in the register and then proceeded to not make mine as requested and also telling me that their cream was not sweetened when it actually was. Next, they had run out of Bacon, was Ham ok, which we said yes to. Our meal came out with over cooked and luke warm eggs- some areas a greyish yellow colour with tough,chewy texture( reheated? and the round processed deli ham looked like it was pulled out of the packet and slapped on our plates- cold. Absolutely no presentation whatsoever. The pepper cork was not in properly so the entire contacts ended up on my friends meal. There were no other customers and the girls were nowhere to be seen. We then proceeded to pick around our meals and left the grey bits of egg and some of the cold tasteless ham, and in my friends case, her pepper coated ham. We did tell one of the girls about the pepper when we eventually found them and her response was “oh, I am sorry”, and proceeded to clear our plates away. We just left. Based on other reviews, we clearly struck a bad morning, but at this stage, not ready to give a second chance."

"I love this place. They happily accept EFTPOS/PayPass for any purchase, including the $1.60 one I just made for a half price pastry! They also said they will look into matcha lattes! This is also the place of my favourite blueberry muffin. Moist, best price and FULL of blueberries."

"Stopped for lunch and had the nicest burger ever. Both my wife and I tried the teriyaki chicken burger. It had a very nice bread roll, a large piece of chicken and salad with a tasty dressing.Mouthwatering!We had a nice cup of coffee each and sat near the children's water feature in Rio Tinto Park. If you're into burgers and drink coffee, you have to try a V Burger."

"Into the bead of highgate on the way into the work to get a cake for morning tea. there are so many beautiful cakes to choose, is a bit overwhelming. I finally settled on the pear and polnta (I think it is birne and polnta or it could be mandel flour) which was presented beautifully with poched pears in the torte and dried pears on the head. Oh, my God. it was the most beautiful cake I've ever eaten. nicely moist and light and not too sweet (I am not a fan of creamy cuddly cake.) even the non-canned cake eaters at work were convinced to try a bit and some went back for me. seriously, these cakes are just a tad more expensive than the mass produced...read more"

"Came here with some girlfriends for a catch up, the atmosphere is casual an chic. very inviting. food was great they are happy to adapt some menu items to Vegan if you need, just ask I has the mushrooms on toast the waitress...was very knowledgeable on the ingredients of each menu item so she knew what to sub in and out. The portion sizes were HUGE which as a hungry person I really appreciated! Coffee was great too lovely little place I will be back!"

"Tonight with my partner and our daughter. fab service and delicious food. the new menu is amazing. I had the chicken and kale Quinoa salad and a part of chips and nave had the loaded fryed (Bacon cheese sauce) and the southern grilled chickenburger. he loved it. the cheese sauce is amazing! everything was delicious even my cocktail the service was great and everyone stopped and said hello to our daughter, she loved the attention! thank you! again"
