"Yesterday we visited Wismar and stopped for coffee at this little place close to the Schabbel Museum we had just visited. I arrived ahead of the rest of the family. First impression: terrible, the waiter really did not want to be there and after ignoring...me for minutes I was greeted with a Was wollen sie denn .(what do you want....not even good morning ....ah well from then on things improved when his very friendly female colleague took over and we had a nice coffee and some Kuchen to go with it."

"An Italian restaurant combined with a bar. Can that work? Yes, it can: The Piccoli does it. Here there is pizza and pasta at very good prices and you can also drink something comfortably. The decor is chic and modern and the food tastes really good. The pizza was fresh with homemade dough and beautifully thin and crispy. The only negative point in our visit (shortly after the opening in the last winter) was that no right door was installed and therefore it was very cold. However, this has been eliminated and the store is now also popular."

"Tucked in a side street off the Marktplatz this is worth a visit. Good, fresh, tasty ice cream. We were the only visitors just before closing, and were regaled by the owner's story - how he took over a chemicals-based East German shop with rusty machines, taught himself how to make ice cream, bought new Italian machines and built the current store. Good luck, hope it all works."
