"Went here for the first time in 1978 and go back every 5-6 years when we are in town. In 1978 they were playing King Crimson which tells you something! There’s only 3 things on the menu, mussels bravas, patatas bravas and fried calamares. Beer, wine and soft drinks. Only cash and you must queue to order. Opens at 8 so be there then and grab a table while someone else queues for drinks and food. Or come after 9.30, otherwise you’ll be waiting for a while. Turnover is quite fast due to limited menu. But nothing has changed, why, because it’s so damn good!"

"I have heard many times how good their octopus is (or was). I only went to La Fragata on a Sunday late afternoon for a drink with friends. It is very Spanish to sit for a drink and conversation, and drinks are always accompanied by pinchos or small appetizers, which are usually free in this part of the world. La Fragata did not offer any, not even potato chips or olives. When asked about it, the unfriendly waitress said she did not have any. End of the conversation. First and last time I 've been there."
