"Went here for dinner as family, 7 adults and 3 kids)while staying for week in Dartmouth, This was our last night and needed to be decent We made last minute booking by phone as previous place we had booked did not have a good choice for all family. The food ordered was of very good and the service was very efficient. We had several different dishes from the menu including one special. All were very tasty, well presented and decent portions. Drinks also quite reasonable compared with some of the places we had been during the week. Certainly would eat here again if and when in Dartmouth."

"On Monday, May 28th, we took part for lunch at the bank holiday. a party with 8 and 2 dogs, the atmosphere was relaxed and the staff was brilliant and friendly. we tried many dings that were new for some of us, spider crab, scallops and cooked oysters, and everything was excellent! I recommend this restaurant to all, they even had a separate menu for dogs (although they could not come past the doggie ice cream)!"

"A shame. A mixture of potential and disappointment we left not wanting to return a 3rd time. Tried to book 4 times to no avail. Arrived to be treated with almost contempt at asking where we could sit. Fab location. Park outside of the village to avoid big problems. Bring bug repellant and tool kit for rotting tables if you intend on braving the back jungle. Lack of serviceable space outdoors. Derelict rear garden, dirty loos, unhelpful and confused staff, chef swearing at the chaos. Lost order tickets, 2 hour wait for food. Very very helpful and cheerful young kitchen assistant. A real asset to the business. Much of the food was observed as frozen supermarket food brought out from the back, heated on outdoor temporary though seemingly now permanent kitchen and presented as fresh meals. The pork which appeared fresh was however tasty. Beautiful spot but honestly not worth the hassle, wait or chaos in future. Service: 1 Location: 4"

"We had been really looking forward to our visit for weeks. It was such a disappointment. The food (limited menu) was well presented and tasty. The table service however was poor. We felt overlooked and forgotten. Surly and unfriendly would be an accurate description. It was booked as a special treat. We came away feeling somewhat let down."

"We where doing the 'round robin ' on the Dartmouth steam railway and found ourselves looking for a not too expensive, but nice, place that could cater for six people and 2 very wet dogs!! We love Dartmouth, but when busy and raining, there doesn 't seem that many places you can sit inside with the dogs that offers good, fair priced food! Well, we 've found one! The Windjammer, a little local pub, just opposite the old market was amazing! Our food order was nothing big, we just wanted lunch! 2 soups (ham and lentil) home made with lovely bread, 2 cheese sandwiches, again made using proper bread and a lovely side salad, and cheesy chips for the kids!! Absolutely gorgeous, just what we needed! Good beer, and a couple of mugs of tea! Looking forward to going back, thankyou for making our wet day out so nice!"

"For whatever reason the service was shockingly slow, it took more than 2hrs to get two courses served. Then it took 30mins to get the bill, such a shame because service aside the food was amazing! Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Minty Mushy Peas, Fish and Chips"
