"Excellent location in the heart of Melrose. Amazing friendly local staff, always smiling, helpful and flexible. The hotel is dog friendly, which was fantastic. Good breakfast included (a la carte style) and restaurant facility for the day, with a nice outdoor area for drinks. The room is cleaned at check-in with complementary coffee and tea. The hotel does not offer room service, so you have to manage your own room cleanliness until check-out. Rooms: 3"

"We've been to this establishment a few times now over the last year. It's always a very enjoyable, friendly experience. Lots to love whether your celiac or not. A great selection of gluten free food, or if you're like me, can enjoy a wheaten roll! On this visit I had a lovely bacon roll, my wife having a gf cherry scone. Both washed down with nice lattes. Can highly recommend and they even operate a rewards programme. One of the best gf cafes I know of in the Borders"

"Lovely meal, had a prawn cocktail, steak fajitas and a strawberry soft meringue roulade. All spot on. The main bar was in good spirits, but for quiet meals the separate dinning room is a nice contrast. Lastly the service, really good, friendly and efficient. Would definitely recommend."

"Came in here for drink only initially, but as soon as we got in we were asked if booked for lunch and advised if wanted lunch they could give us a reserved table for a while, until the other patrons arrived which was good of them. I wanted a Bloody Mary but they did not have any tomato juice which I was disappointed about. Opted for wine instead. We decided to have the spicy cream of cauliflower soup, chunky chips portion and ham tomato sandwich to share. For my friend and I the soup we felt was far too thick and not spicy at all so put pepper in it to see if that helped, but my friend could not eat it re the consistency and asked the waiter to take them back. The sandwich was fresh and well made coming with salad and coleslaw. The waiter said he'd tried the soup and for his taste it was fine, but deducted the soups from our bill which was honorable. The front of house was vibrant with young members of friendly staff. Yes I would recommend going there but would ask that they get some tomato juice!"
