"We ate here for lunch when visiting Calgary. Our favourite restaurant in Calgary was closed today so this was the closest place to my in-laws house.The server was very friendly and polite and professional, she was let down by the kitchen staff.Chai tea lacked taste of masala and was not worthy of being called chai. Shahi Paneer was flavourless and very bland. Chickpea curry wasn't bad but still nothing close to what authentic Indian food would taste like. The butter naan tasted like it was frozen naan just cooked. The veg platter was better but the amount of chutney provided was only enough for two bites of the dish. Temperature in the restaurant was so cold we didn't want to take our winter coats off.Would not recommend this place. We were the first in the restaurant but did not get out chai first as they had fiends in the restaurant who were more important to serve first then is."

"I've had the good fortune of having visited Mango Shiva several times over the last decade. There is no question that this is the premier Indian destination in this city. The best part of this restaurant is that they have mastered the art of welcoming in Western cuisine and fused with authentic East Indian flavours. The Butter Chicken Naacos, Lamb chops, and Chicken Biryani are without doubt excellent dishes that deliver incredible flavour, and truly satiate your taste buds. If you are a fan of TAO in Vegas for their take on Asian fusion, Mango Shiva should be your next destination for Indian Fusion. PS skip your beer habit and try their Mango Lassi it's delicious!"

"The best indian food! not only best indian, best ethnic. I have to highly disagree with all negative reviews. this place is the best I have ever had. the restaurant owner is also the cook, and hes been cooking for years, with passion ! everything on the menu is the delicious. what a great place. must try place !"

"After my first visit I wanted to give this place a 1-star rating, but then I wanted to give them a chance. I went there the second time and it was good. they have a decent selection in their buffet. first visit experience: Goat-Curry...Container empty, nan brote are hours or so old, most of the food runs out, something chaos here and there; I was there at 18 o'clock, so there is no apology of last hour. second visit experience: it was the second week in september 2017. I went there at 19 o'clock and there was no problem. they have also changed their buffet area placement. at the end of the day the buffet price is $13 tax, so if they are ready to take a risk, then they go on. I would recommend that they go in and take a look. If you don't like it, just go."

"Whilst on vacation in Calgary, we found this small restaurant purely by chance and went in to get a take out menu. The fabulous smell of the curry was enough to make us try it and thank goodness we did. We chose a lamb curry and a chicken curry with rice and a nan bread. The portions were huge for the two of us, the taste was fantastic. Value for money was superb. Needless to say we went back again, this time taking only one curry with some samosas, rice and nan. Once again the taste was superb. We LOVE Indian food and rarely find the chance to have some when on vacation in North America. Thank you Spice Hut for a real treat..... Just hope lots of people come here. You and your food deserve it!!!!"

"We went to the restaurant after hearing rave reviews about their Chana Bhatura and checking the website to make sure it was on the menu.Got seated quickly and the restaurant was moderately crowded.When we ordered Channa Bhatura, her response was that some items are only served in the morning even though the menu made no mention of it. She did not even try to check if the kitchen would make them as we had just traveled half hour for this.Only one word comes to mind.....DISAPPOINTING!!!You're better off trying Royal Paan in the North East if you want good Indian food"
