"We ate at Bao's for the first time and were the accompanied by a lot of Chinese people in the Restaurant which is always a good sign that it is authentic. We shared a big dumpling soup (12 large dumplings), salt & pepper squid, bean sprouts with mixed vegetables and steamed rice. All the dishes were delicious and we felt we were back in China again on holiday. Would highly recommend this restaurant if you like food that true to its Shanghai roots."

"Visited here for a quiet birthday dinner and enjoyed it immensely. The food is always good and the service is very efficient. Love the entrees, fish cakes (amazing not spongy) spring rolls curry puffs and the seafood mains are really good, especially a green chicken curry and the beef Masaman. Best of all, you can actually have a chat here as it is not as noisy as some others close by."

"Luncheon at Jimmys Place on Mother's Day and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was extremely busy and we had not booked. Our drinks and entees were served promptly. Mains the same. The freshest Chinese food I have ever had. Wait staff incredibly switched on without being pushy. I will return when we have more time to savour the dining experience. Thank you"

"Went late Friday night, not busy at all. Quite a large menu I chose the Tofu Hot Pot and my partner got the Mock Pork Cutlet. The tofu hot pot was delicious, seasoned and cooked to perfection. However my partner wasn't too impressed with the pork cutlet. It wasn't breaded and a little bit flavourless. Would go again but probably not over another vegan restaurant."

"This is a Chinese eatery, and as far as I know, there is nowhere like this at least in Canberra. The majority of their main dishes are rice and noodle dishes, but different from what you find at other Chinese restaurants. Rice noodle dishes and...chicken rice casserole are very nice. They also have numerous exotic small dishes, some of which don't sound inviting (think about pig's trotters, duck feet, duck giblets, etc Maybe these dishes put off some people you hardly see non-Asian customers at this place. They have other less exotic dishes too. (seaweed, black fungus, Chinese style beef jerky, etc Their medium hot is quite hot so watch out if you are asked how hot you want your food to be. Service is acceptable. I should probably give three starts but I am giving four stars for its unusualness, and also because we always enjoy our meal at this place. If you are adventurous, have a go for at least for an experience. It is all reasonably priced so you won't feel ripped off even if you don't enjoy the food!"

"We ordered our meals at 8.45am, still waiting for 2 meals (table of 6) at 10.30am Only scrambled eggs, French toast and pancakes...very slow service. Food was pretty good once we got it. Take away coffees were coming in and going out faster."
