"Nach den Lobgesängen für dieses Restaurant musste ich es einmal selbst testen und kam Sonntag Mittag vorbei. Tischreservierung hatte einwandfrei funktioniert und auch die Essensbestellung lief reibungslos. Ich persönlich finde den Preis für die Größe des Salats nicht angemessen also zu teuer. Die Pizza Thunfisch war in Ordnung, allerdings nur Durchschnitt und ich hatte irgendwie mehr erwartet..."

"I was on my way from Nuremberg to Vogtland and then went on the run from the highway to find me a restaurant for lunch. In Lauf I found a parking lot on the Pegnitzwiesen, at a comparatively favorable rate of 30 cents per hour or 50 cent for two hours. The RK app hid me a steak house beyond the Pegnitz bridge, which I found there was the “south”, a restaurant with Italian cuisine. Standing in front of the house (closed parasols advised that in better weather it is also possible to sit outside. However, this was not recommended in the rainy weather. When entering, I was greeted by the service with a friendly “Hello!” but there was no table assignment, so I chose a place myself. The service was also just serving at one of the other tables and then brought me the menu in the second run. In the relatively small guest room at this time were four of eight tables occupied, the card offers the common standards of Italian cuisine, various salads, pasta dishes, pizzas and some meat dishes. There was no fixed programme for fish, here reference was made to the day offers. They found themselves on a table at the Tresen as well as on a leaflet in the map and included about ten positions with soups, salads and main dishes. However, I had decided for a court from the main card and ordered “Spaghetti with Giant Tiles” (9,80 € and a big special (0,4l for 2,80 €). The service thanked and disappeared towards the kitchen, I followed her and looked for the toilet. Modern in anthracite and white, this spatiality was visually and technically very good and also very clean. The furniture is quite modern, made of dark wood, there is a round bench with seat and back cushions made of brown artificial leather throughout the room. The seat cushions of the chairs are made of the same material. On the otherwise bare table tops were dark green table runners, the places were covered with cutlery and red paper napkins. There were two white flowers in small porcelain vase, a tealight in the glass that was ignited during order intake, salt shaker and pepper mill on the tables. After a very short waiting period, my food was served in a large presentation stage, and the service provided a lid bowl with grated parmesan on the table. Spaghetti in fresh tomato sauce, covered with rocket and mixed with giant tiles, in the middle a branch of rosemary. The food was hot, the noodles were just “old” and the shrimps were also exactly right. And from the taste of this composition, I have to say that I haven't eaten so tasty for a long time, a clear compliment to the kitchen! I've been sick enough. The service was always friendly, partly charming, not necessarily what one imagines under a correct “German” service, rather warm. However, there was no question of whether everything was okay. Conclusion: If I were to characterize this restaurant with two terms, it would be “hearty” and “lecker”. As a traveller, I don't know any other restaurants in Lauf, this one gets a clear recommendation."

"Absolute favorite place! super team, always friendly and have fun for one or other. Eating tastes really good and due to the size of the portions I also find the prices appropriate. Special requests are accepted and implemented with absolute self-evidentness. The menu is mega, as you can find something other than pizza, noodles and burgers. Week card anyway a great idea! Also the redesigned ambience has succeeded, I feel absolutely 5 out of 5 stars :"

"Das Südlich ist an sich ein schönes Lokal, das innen und außen recht liebevoll gestaltet ist. Auch die Karte ist optisch sehr gelungen, die Auswahl der Speisen sehr gut. Geschmacklich gibt's auch nichts auszusetzen. Was nicht so schön ist: Es riecht innen immer extrem nach Küche. Und insbesondere Mittags muss man einfach zu lange aufs Essen warten. Ich weiß es zu schätzen wenn frisch gekocht wird, aber eine normale Mittagspause ist zu kurz um hier essen zu können."
