"Strange place. Booked because it is like a nice place to go for a meal. Always a good sign when a restaurant has a bouncer at the door where you invite! Once we have gone into you, you will not get the mood of an upscale restaurant (which you will remember about the price of food, but rather like a nightclub. We went early and the place was pretty dead, not unexpected at 6:30 a week. The restaurant was extremely dark, so people use their phone burners to read the menu. The employees were smart and polite, but the mood was as if someone had placed some tables in the middle of a nightclub, not helped by bass heavy music that was too loud for this time of the evening. The food was good, not excellent. I asked about my lamb medium rarely and it came closer to well made, but then it was so dark I could not make sure enough of the color complain. Desserts were a mixed bag. Beautiful Tiramisu but the Pavalova was so hard that you could probably not eat it with the frozen stuff. The highlight was halfway through Dessert's music rose to ear piercing levels when a random fire performer appeared and started to go the restaurant, I'm sure she was very talented but seriously, Wwf? She made about 5 minutes to 7 people, the whole thing was unpleasant. At this point we couldn't wait to get out. I admit free, I am probably not the destination clients of the restaurant (I have some research and thought I should probably break the table with a look at some of the photos, but they charge £60 with less than 24 hours termination! Overall, this place is probably great for a night with drinks and dance and photos for IG, but for a nice, pleasant meal from all over the other place. A very muddy place."

"The atmosphere in there is lovely and food was flavoursome. Unfortunately we both found an inch long piece of stick or bone in our mouths from one of the dishes. Really poor show especially in this level of establishment, we got a small apology before being stung with a £450 bill. The wine flight portions were tiny at 100ml and worked out at nearly £20 a glass, I would of thought twice if I’d known this, none of that is explained on the menu and not what we are used to when purchasing a wine flight. I found the staff poor, they mumbled through what the dishes were so couldn’t understand what they were saying, its part of the theatre of it and generally seemed very poorly trained. To top it all off the next day I had a very upset stomach. Poor service at times (stick in food, mumbling, no eye contact, staff scruffy) poor value for money, I would not return. Such a shame as I had really been looking forward to it. Not the treat I was expecting."

"This one had to be a good one, because the French know food, right? So for an evening filled with haute cuisine, I headed to Pierre Victoire in Soho. Pierre Victoire could only be more French if it was really in France. There's French art hanging on the walls, French music playing in the background and French wait staff welcoming the guests. The view, however, is not so French as you look straight onto the construction site of Crossrail, but that will improve. Or so I hope..."
