"Loved this place on Wednesday nights. It turns into a club in the upstairs area... food was iffy, but mostly because I didn't know what I was ordering. What I liked tasted good but several dishes weren't what I was expecting and weren't to my tastes. However, someone less picky may have enjoyed them - I'm just not much on octopus."

"This place was just kept getting better as the evening went on. As you approach it's second floor location, it appears like any other strip mall restaurant. But, upon entering, it has very classy, upscale ambiance. The appetizers of sausage, bread, empanadas, and salsa were very good, but the best was yet to come.We ordered tenderloin and ribeye steak to share. I bit into the tenderloin first, and oh my, what a treat. It almost melts in your mouth, it was so tender and juicy. I couldn't stop eating it until a colleague said to try the ribeye, it might be better. I was skeptical. The ribeye wasn't quite as tender, but incredibly, he was right. It was probably the best steak I have ever had. Simply outstanding flavor.The service was excellent, but the steaks are the experience I will always remember."

"Maiz dorado is one of the best places I've seen in Saltillo. You don't even feel you are there. Decoration, music and the complete environment is really awesome. I believe it is a place to visit at night. My table was located in a wooden...bridge and it was surrounded by torches. It was really nice. Food is good, but not the best you'll find in Saltillo. I ordered lentils and the skewered shrimp. Definitely a place to visit if you come to Saltillo."

"The food is great, don't get me wrong, the place is very nice and clean, and we even got the chance to watch a proposal (romantic : . However the only thing they failed to do was to give us the right accommodation. I went with my family. My husband, kid and myself arrived first, they gave us a big table, then my siblings /parents arrived. After a few minutes we noticed the strong smell of smoke. It turns out that they gave us a table in the smoking area! I mean come on! Didn't you see my child!!!?? And not only it was smoking area, the big window that was supposed to be opened for this same reason, was closed because it was freaking cold outside. Of course they changed our seats to a non-smoking area and the rest of the evening was full of flavor and delicious air smoke free. But yeah, that main incident was a turn off for me."
