"Watch the hours! My employee arrived was waiting for my arrival from a cross town. She was informed that as long as we ordered by 2.15p that there wouldn’t be a problem but they never said that it would have to be takeout only at that point. We ordered right at 2.15p so we didn’t expect any problems. Expecting to enjoy a nice lunch and have a nice conversation, however we were then booted out. I was told that if we didn’t want to have the lunch that we could have left it but I don’t like to waste food. However had I known that this is what was going to happen I certainly wouldn’t of ordered a deep fried sampler fried foods never carryover well and they certainly don’t reheat up well later on. Yuk. They are apparently used to closing down at 2:30 every day but their communication skills at defining this particular element are quite lacking. I have no problems with limited hours but be upfront about it and tell people so that they can make arrangements or go elsewhere. At that point we had to find somewhere else to go and put the food in the vehicles. It was nearly 3pm by then and neither of us had eaten yet because of our work schedule. So we were quite hungry by then, which makes this a little worse than usual. The design of the restaurant is very poor and it’s terrible in the winter time. Every time the front door opens, wafts of air chill the entire place down. An Arctic entry or an L shape entrance needs to be reviewed. If I return, it will be in the summer months when it’s warmer and certainly during hours that are much more optimum because apps a later lunch doesn’t seem to be available. Note: food 3/4 stars. The food has been fairly good the past couple of times I have patronised the restaurant but this put a negative overtone on it all."

"Good BBQ, not so good sides.... My wife and I were in the mood for BBQ. We decided to try the newly opened Smokehouse BBQ on the corner of Spenard and Minnesota. I ordered the brisket sandwich and my wife ordered the pulled pork. Both sandwiches were VERY good and the meat portions were perfect. The sides however left much to be desired. I ordered the fried okra and baked beans. There are about a handful (closed hand... of okra and the baked beans were merely pork-n-beans. I got about a serving spoon full. My wife got the coleslaw and potato salad. The coleslaw was very bland and potato salad was served from an ice cream scoop. It might just be me, but when I have food served from an ice cream scoop, it reminds me of being in a cafeteria; not very appealing when we 're 'eating out. ' We both ordered drinks and were given bottles of diet Pepsi. It was enough for our meal but not very common for a 'restaurant '.<br/ <br/ All said, definitely go for the BBQ, but save your money on the sides or use for another BBQ course."

"Hidden on this cheerful and so glad we made it! the cats are light, tasteful, not overcooked, not over boiled. also the pork ribs, yams, kartoffel salad and buzz were standouts. it is a family business and everyone was very hospitable and hospitable and treats us like guests in their home."

"I would wait a million years and spend a million dollars for this food... everyone cry about time and price I only cry when the quality isn’t good, BOIIIIIIIII!!!!! I was cryin, because the food made me feel like I was in my backyard in Florida at grandmas cookout when I bit into it, had me in an amazing southern zone real soul food puts you in. I was chill and happy.. I love this place!"
