"This is a hidden gem with limited seating and very much the feel of an old diner. The food is home style. I only go there for breakfast, so that's all I can comment on. They make the eggs to perfection. Their sausage is marvelous! The biscuits and gravy are not the best I've ever had, but are mighty darn good."

"Once again Mel's did not disappoint! The food is amazing, they have the best sweet potato fries I've ever had( and they are my favorite fry) the fried okra is to die for as well, I had the BLT and it was also delicious! The service is as always amazing.Our waitress Isabella was on top of her game and made sure our group of 10 was well taken care of!! I can't wait to visit again"

"Good food. Soda price is outrageous. Food is brought to you, but basically it is self-service, which is why I rated only 4 . Roger Hoyt Upon this return visit, I was sorely disappointed; I encountered an old and recurring problem that I had experienced with McAlister's in a state where I previously lived--stale, or near-stale bread. I ordered the Angus club, and the bread was noticeably not fresh. In addition, I ordered the lemonade from the soda fountain, for an advertised $1.79, but received, and was charged for, the larger lemonade at $3.99. Furthermore, I asked for Mrs. Vickie's sea salt chips, but got McAlister's Spud Chips, which were soaked in cooking oil, were soggy and un-chewable; worst chips I have ever had, anywhere. I am once again put-off by this deli and will not return. Back down to 2 Stars--and, really, that's being charitable. Did you dine in, take out, or get delivery?(Beta) What did you get?(Beta) How much did you spend per person?(Beta)"

"This restaurant should not be listed as vegan options. they run a list with vegan options right on the menu, but if I asked, the coworker always the labeled gluten-free items (tuna, cheese, etc. is not vegan, people.) after I have repeatedly clarified, she pointed out that salads that can remove certain items are removed. she asked another worker who seemed as confused and finally came out to tell me he could make a vegetarian pasta dish (again, I asked if it was vegan) at this point the bartender said they could also make the boggi bowl with the steak. I chose it. what I received was tweeping, paprika and a few mushrooms w/a hunk of white rice, swimming in oil. for $19. it tastes ok, first (not good,) but at the end I was typing the bowl to let off the oil, which I could no longer like."
