"Rude!! Just ordered a takeaway from here my husband asked for spinach in my vindaloo.. answered the door and the woman abruptly said have you got the pound for the saag I said sorry? She said a pound for the spinach I said no sorry my husband ordered it his as work to which she said well tell him next time! I also ordered poppadoms as last time they never came with the meal like all the other Indiansi order do.. So I ordered 2 ..which have come with no sauce or salad. Will not be going here again!"

"Not one to leave reviews but this is a MUST!!Went in for a meal and a few games of pool. We had a warm welcome by the manager, and found that the pool was FREE every Monday WINNER. All the starters were DELICIOUS, Mega stack chicken was lovely and moist as with the gammon, Chips were lovely and crispy on outside fluffy in the middle, LOVELY, Hubby loved it. Son and I had the chicken burger and cowboy burger. SCRUMPTIOUS! We had a fantastic evening and all the bar staff were fantastic. Had a right laugh with them. The young lady serving us at the table did not stop, she was very polite at all times, Right person in the right job, this was mentioned to the manager. We had a great time and will certainly be returning!!! Already recommended to family and friends : 10/10 TO YOU ALL"

"We booked to celebrate my wife 's birthday. On arrival the 4 of us had a drink at the bar before being taken to our table. The service throughout was brilliant from everyone. There is a very relaxed atmosphere at the Duncombe Arms, with a nice buzz as you might expect on a Saturday night. Food menu is restricted (but with good choice). The wine menu on the other hand is the size of a small book! Food is very well presented and tasty. Two of the standout dishes were the marmite covered cauliflower and the Sole. We couldn 't resist ordering the apple tart (takes 45 mins to cook). We had 2 between us but could have had just one! Overall the food was great, the service exceptional but I resist scoring 5 out of 5 due to the cost ...£300 for 4. I have attached the bill, you can make up your own mind! Well worth a visit"

"We came to the cock inn as we heard good things about it , it was very quiet today on a friday lunch time but unfortunately service was very slow despite only being 3 tables in. The food was ok but just your normal pub food we ordered the ham egg and chips and the all day breakfast , the ham was supposed to be honey glazed but didnt taste of much but ham and the all day breakfast was good. We had puddings and they were fudge and the chocolate torte which were both lovely. The best part was the view of the sheep."

"Following great reviews on social media and photos of lovely cocktails, we travelled to Yoxall for Sunday lunch and a social afternoon with cocktails. Food was good and service was good, hence the two stars. But no cocktails on Sundays apart from a few gin based spritzers!! Only coffee available was instant. So expectations of a relaxed and social afternoon totally dashed. If you want a quick lunch and don’t have to travel far then OK but no more."

"I would like to thank everyone at the Swan for yet another lovely Sunday lunch, it’s so plentiful and tasty, the meat is quality and the gravy is delicious. I would usually choose beef for a Sunday out, but the pork here is so tender, has the right balance of fat and a generous amount of crispy salty crackling, that it’s now my go to choice. My only complaint is that I would appreciate the option of a smaller adult portion so I would have room for a dessert!"

"This is a fine friendly old pub close to the river at the far end of Burton's long High St, and is the home of the Burton Bridge Brewery for which it acts it’s the tap pub. It is a multi room set up and after accessing through a short corridor to the left is the Smoke Room with two charming front snugs and it's own bar access with lots of original features. And then the back bar is larger but less interesting although still with lots of wood panelling and a blackboard giving the available ale line up. And then upstairs is a skittle alley and a meeting room which can be hired. Each downstairs room has a set of four hand pumps with Burton Bridge beers on. For our visit six of the breweries beers were on across these in the shape of Sovereign Gold, Bridge Bitter, DBA, Stairway to Heaven, Festival Ale, Burton Ale and Top Dog Stout, which went from £3.30 to £3.80 for the highest abv. Also traditional pub grub in the shape of large cobs and the cheese and onion one I had hit the spot. Definitely a don't miss pub for the ale enthusiast when in Burton."
