"We ate at the Atrium in the Doubletree Hotel as it was Anzac day and we didn't want to pay the 15% surcharge in the nearby local restaurants. The starters were very good - we had salt & pepper calimari and Moroccan lamb cigars. One of the specials was T bone steak with jacket potatoes and vegetables. The waiter told us that this was a very large meal, suitable for sharing. We did as he suggested and the serving was more than enough for us after the large starters. The waiter was friendly and eficient."

"Muddy’s Cafe had outstanding healthy grilled mackerel, salads, and veggie breakfast offerings. Drinks and prepackaged sandwiches were also very tasty, although more expensive than at Woolworth’s, for example. We stayed for a week across the street and never really felt a pressing need to eat...elsewhere. We did investigate other cafes and restaurants in Cairns and tried some of these others as well, but found these other spots decidedly less appetizing and attractive."

"Yeah, it's cheap. but they get exactly what they pay for. $4 worth of chips, had given a lot of chips, but they were too oily and overcooked and had a strange taste to them. my partner and I had under the half when we were given before we kicked them out. do you want a banana or pineapple? no ursache. They don't even mention it to them. she was so rude when we asked. not recommended."

"My wife and I went to Barassis at lunch time today for my birthday and we ordered the seafood platter and the garlic prawns main courses. I asked the girl at the register if they accepted Amex and she said yes. The EFTPOS rejected it...so she said tap it before finally realising they did not accept Amex. I had to tell her to reset the EFTPOS before the payment was finally made with Visa. After almost half an hour of watching other persons who ordered immediately before us and after us collect their meals, I approached the counter to inquire what had happened to our order. The lady started checking order dockets and spoke with one of the cooks, before telling me our order would be ready shortly. A little while later she handed me the garlic prawns, and when I stood there waiting, she asked me if there was a second meal. She again started searching the order dockets and asking the cooks, before finally finding the docket that they had misplaced. I sat down and ate the prawns whilst my wife waited a further 10 minutes for her meal. She later blamed the fiasco on their computer system. I was going to go to Graziers at the Balaclava Hotel which always has great meals and service but I made the mistake of going to Barassis instead. I won't repeat the mistake."

"I think people have gotten the old Yannis that then was renamed Adelfia mixed up. Unfortunately both restaurants are now not in operation. There is no greek restaurant situated on Abbott street, its actually an Italian restaurant called Piccolos Trattoria. Yannis/Adelfia was situated on the corner of Grafton and Aplin Street. I'd also like to point out the picture above is clearly from a restaurant in the UK, look at the phone number and the sign to the left sporting the pound sign."

"The security guy Darren 189 was an absolutely lovely to deal with. Not only was he welcoming when we first entered the pub he always made sure we felt safe and was having a good time. There needs to be a million more security people who know how to interact with people especially when they are intoxicated. I recommend everyone have a good night here because the staff make the experience 10 times better"
