"The Duke of York is a Greene King owned pub on Dering Street on the fringe of Mayfair. Its interior is dominated by an ornate, old-fashioned spiral staircase which winds up to an equally quaint dining area ‘upstairs’. We came in as much for lunch and to quench our thirst on a hot summer day, as a reward for my patience towards my wife and daughter’s all-morning Oxford street shopping spree."

"We start with the positive that eating was delicious and we were set fast. it seems as though they have taken too many people into claim to provide any service, or perhaps the service is simply shocking bad, regardless of it. starter (spring rollers) came after approx. 20 minutes, no drinks yet. 2 out of 3 netzen came after another 20 minutes, no drinks yet. the drinks hunted and they finally arrived. we had finished our meal and the 3rd main course never arrived, so we canceled it. they tried to convince us to still have it and it wouldn't be long. we went back and asked for the bill. they brought it anyway and suggested we take it. obviously we just wanted to pay for it, there was never a offer to take it from the bill, no excuse, they just wanted us to take the late food and pay for it. rejected and asked for the bill, paid and quickly left. in hint would have refused to pay the service fee of 12.5%."

"Horrible experience. Lunch time very busy. We did not have a reservation, so had to wait 40 minutes for a table, but sat at the bar and ordered drinks whilst waiting. Kiyah took our order and had great customer service and waiting. 5 to her. I ordered an oyster which was tasty and different and b and l combo- chips and lobster tasted good with the Holy F k spicy sauce, salad was yummy spinach, dried beetroot and parmesan with pomegranate sauce) but the burger was not great. Upstairs was clean, toilet was downstairs alot of stairs to get to it), one toilet was leaking and the rest was clean. After I had two bites into the burger i started to feel hot, sweating belly hurting and nauseous. I had to run to the toilet to vomit. Asked to speak to the manager Ramya and she was adamant it was NOT the food and it was what I ate at home. Was not sympathetic to even offer water just the ambulance to cover themselves and was only talking about the temperatures and standards of all the foods and how many branches there are. As seeing from the amount of reviews I have done I go out to eat alot and have never experienced this in my life. "Loch Fyne specializes in seafood dishes, so it's a bit fishy if you go there and only plan on having a burger. It's a relatively upscale restaurant as well, or at least you'd imagine so with the marked up prices and somewhat sleepy-dead atmosphere. It's a good place to go to though for a relaxing meal or pleasant family dinner. We ordered from the set menu, with crab cakes to start. The coriander and sweet chilli had a nice tangy flavour but I was a bit disappointed at how small the three balls of crab cake were. For a main I had the king prawn squid spaghetti. "We had walked past, and then through the Four Seasons in Mayfair, but this April trip, was the first time that we actually stopped in, on another leg of our afternoon “Champagne Quest.” We crossed the lovely lobby, for Amaranto Lounge, and were promptly seated in the middle of the room, close to the gorgeous bar. Immediately, we had the wine list, and I began pouring over it. Finally, I decided that we would start with: Ruinart Blanc de Blanc NV And here, I went off-script a bit, with the Fratelli Lunelli Ferrari Perlé Trento Metodo Classico 2010, from the Trentino-Alto Adige Both were lovely sparklers, and the stemware was elegant! Our service was excellent, in every respect, and we lingered over our sparkling wine, just taking in the beauty of the room. Why had we never stopped into this lounge before? The décor is, well, in a word – red! However, as bright and vibrant as the colors were, it all fit together, in a lovely way. I spent much of my time, gazing at the wine storage display walls, and the lovely room. As one enters the lobby, Amaranto is immediately to the left, and it appears that some times, the crowd might spill out into the lobby, as evidenced by a grand piano, near the entrance. I observed an al fresco area, but did not explore it from within the lounge, itself. Judging by the location, I would think that one would have a nice view of Park Lane, and Hyde Park, from those outside tables. Service was extremely friendly, and highly efficient. As the Ferrair Perlé was new to me, I was impressed that our server knew it so well, but then he was Italian, and showed a natural pride in explaining this wine to me, in detail. As I always appreciate a wine “chalk talk,” I took it all in – just as I did with this wine, plus my wife’s Blanc de Blanc. In all, a wonderful stop, in a very elegant, but relaxing venue, with great service, and a fun wine list. What more could one ask for? As we always have stayed in Mayfair, we will be back. Amaranto Lounge has now been added to our “Champagne Trail.”"

"This venue is a very nice place! I went a couple of time and here is my opinion: The brunch is delicious and staff rocks, the fish and chips is freshly made and delicious, finally it’s the only place that offers 5 pounds pint in the neighborhood!"

"Arrived to a buzzing Claridges to enjoy some afternoon tea! A friendly warm welcome on arrival. We were a pair of greedy guests and did not say no to offers of more delicious sandwiches and scones! Tea was also replenished regularly, we had several pots! The team were super friendly and we had a good laugh with them. We did enjoy a look around the hotel and I must say everyone we encountered was so friendly and welcoming! Sometimes very grand hotels can be stuffy, not at Claridges!! What a wonderful time we had in Claridges and thank you to the team for making our day so special!"
