"I have been eager to dine at La Gran Tapa but I am severely disappointed. We went there last Friday during happy hour. We ordered a couple of mediocre sangria's. The paella which cost $25 was to have mixed seafood and meats. The best I can say is this was a pathetic attempt at making paella with scanty portions of seafood or meat. Our server was less than attentive to our needs and just rude. Come to find out they ran our card twice for the same amount and added a 15% gratuity. Needless to say we left irate with only a taste of their terrible service and insipid food."

"A local Italian restaurant in Clairemont area. We were there for Valentine's Day with a special menu, which was great, but I had looked at it for the regular items and will go back to try some of them. It is kind of a big hole in the wall, but food and service was excellent, and I noted several locals came in and didn't know they only had the special menu and were a bit disappointed. We came from Rancho Penn and it was worth the effort. Movies next door so you can do two things with one trip"

"We were very impressed with Sirens, especially considering they had only been open 3 weeks. Our waiter, Santiago, was attentive and friendly . We all loved our food (swordfish, calamari, chicken/chorizo pasta, salad, cannoli . I will come back soon for the seafood salad, very well -priced at $18. Very good deals for happy hour. I do feel, however, that the octopus crudo (tapa was overpriced at $9 for 4 tiny slices. We had an early dinner at 4:30 before theater, with only one other party in the restaurant, so it was quiet. Considering that, I thought the food came out rather slowly, but this operation is very new. All of us agreed we will return!"
