"This is possibly the best food in Idaho Springs. Many of their items are scratch made in house and you can taste the difference. We love coming here as we are locals and especially love the chicken wings and buffalo cauliflower. My only gripe is that they totaled the bill in a way that asks you to tip on the kitchen surcharge. The kitchen surcharge should not be an item that you're asking your patrons to tip on. The management needs to get this fixed on their point of sale system because it's deceiving many customers when they go to pay the bill. If you watch out for that and careful when you tip at the end you will still have the best food in Idaho Springs."

"Every selection was delicious. But and berry salad with chicken, Mac and cheese and burnt end sandwich. Pretzel was soft and buttery. Flights were good and so was homemade root beer."

"Breathe down here, Mt. Evans. I'll eat every chance here. Your BBQ is so good and the sauce is also great. We got the hot wings, a few BBQ sandwiches, and some pulled pigs and it was all on the point and smoked to perfection. Your ranch and fried pickles are also on point!!! This is so good or better than any grill I found in Texas!!"

"Only tried the build your own Calzone. The Calzone was good from the firewood oven. The service was attentive and polite. The atmosphere was mellow, we were the only ones eating at that time around noon. I'm sure Pickaxe gets rowdy on the weekends. The surroundings were dated with a hodgepodge of things all around. I'm not a picky or snobby person it's just an observation. I did like the historical pictures in the hallway just outside the restrooms. An interesting place to try. Vegetarian options: Not much for vegetarians Parking: Free parking around this area after 6PM Wheelchair accessibility: This establishment was not equipped for the handicapped but could still work if needed."
