"What a nice place to eat! Great home cooking the price was right two 15.oo clean friendly fast service open at 5am 6days a wk. Full menu great lunch specials fantastic home made goodies homemade bread a really nice breakfast a real hidden gem with really fresh ingredients a must place to go!"

"It was difficult to order chicken because the meals deals were what they sell..so if you want just 4 pieces of chicken say...you paid for a pop and salad and fries even if you did not want them..and there is no seperate pricing. The chicken was skin and bone rather than meat. Not satisfactory. Sad as it used to be the fave place to go and grab a bucket and go to the awesome Transfer beach down the road for a picnic."

"English style pub is a cut or two above the rest, thanks to good food and a helpful staff. THE ROSES: If you 're an Anglophile, Fox and Hounds is a great pub to visit. Wonderful olde English atmosphere. Very good selection of beers on tap. Staff is very helpful in setting up patrons with dishes that allow for dietary restrictions (like gluten intolerance . What I particularly liked is that they were able to make fish and chips for me that was panko breaded rather than battered. I know battered fish and chips is the 'English ' way, but few restaurants this side of the Atlantic get battered fish right. All too often it 's too much batter, or the fish is really greasy. I didn 't feel like taking a chance, so the kitchen breaded my fish and it was really nicely done. The bread pudding is also a standout. THE THORNS: None worth mentioning. THE VERDICT: Fox and Hounds is one of those rare pubs that puts as much (or more? thought into their food as they do their beer. It 's a wonderful 'little bit 'o Britain ' in the quiet backwater town of Ladysmith BC Highly recommend!"

"After having to move my Mother into a dementia facility at last notice, I was fortunate to have my sister-in-laws help to pack up and move things. At the end of a long day, I took her to Kaede for dinner and she was totally amazed at the amount and quality of food she received for the price as compared to the Metro Vancouver area where she lives. Our dinner was fabulous as was the service."

"In a small town with limited options this cafe would possibly rate higher, but being from cafe-culture Vancouver we were not impressed when we stopped by for a quick lunch. One high point was the Nanaimo Bar- all gooey, chocolatey as a Nanaimo bar should be"
