"Good climate, tasty food (just that bread looking like with banana . Waited for food around 1hr. But staff very friendly and helpful. There also was fish tasty. And one more portion of garlic bread, which rules . I think because of pandemic time, there was less staff. Delay forgotten. Really recommend food."

"We've been here for ten years while we're on vacation in mossfennan. biggar itself is wonderful and this place offers brilliant snacks to very favorable trips. there is a feeling of community, with a small library of used books for sale and the employees are so...friendly"

"Wonderful day spent at New Lanark Mills, however badly tarnished by the appalling food offer, rip off prices and haphazard service in this so called cafe. Reading the other reviews it is clear the operator of this business (council? has any interest in providing a quality experience. As a Scot, I was embarrassed to see a group of overseas visitors so unimpressed they walked out! The management of the Trust need to get a grip of this situation, either improve or terminate the franchise. To continue to do nothing is simply undermining the overall visitor experience and worse by tarnishing the good reputation of Scottish food and service."

"I dropped in with my granddaughter recently for lunch. The menu covers a typical selection of breakfast and lunch items including soups, sandwiches, baked potatoes, filled rolls, paninis, etc Despite the fact that it was busy on arrival we managed to get a table, place an order and have this delivered in a fairly short timescale, in contrast to some visits in the past when service has been slow. All the staff seemed to be working to a purpose, were friendly and efficient! I had a couple of rolls with Lorne sausage £2.95 each), whilst my granddaughter had a Coronation chicken sandwich which was served with a little salad, coleslaw and crisps £5.50). We both enjoyed our choices, although the salad dressing wasn’t a hit personal preference not to have it). Next up was a plain scone with butter £2.60) and a slice of carrot cake £2.30) with tea and coffee. The scone seemed to go down well but I thought the cake was a bit dry. Overall, decent enough lunch for around £20 for two. Unisex toilet was well maintained."

"I have only visited this cafe a few times but I have never been disappointed yet. Yes sometimes it not super quick but the reason is simple it’s all freshly made for you while you wait and week with it. I have to laugh at...the people who gave it a poor rating based on nobody “welcoming” them, maybe they weren’t aware royalty were in the area that day. Tom G"
