"We visited as part of a large group during a stay at the university for a event. we had a nice friendly welcome, and the service was excellent, despite what looked like a high-time reception in a private room. many places I visited among similar circumstances have suffered the service, but I would not have asked here anymore. the food was all about delicious, and the portions so generous that some of us did not finish all our meal times, although we also tried. Drinks were good, and my friends who had their own specially brewed beer said they were very good."

"Went for a family lunch to the Dungeon restaurant. You enter around the back and have to pass the toilets en route to the bar . once in the bar, we could smell urine ...wasn't sure whether it was IN the bar or because we passed the toilets! It wasn't pleasant when you are arriving for lunch..... Most of the staff were pleasant enough but one was a bit abrupt I felt! Food was okay....I was expecting more from the sandwiches though .i had the chicken and bacon sandwich .....couldn't taste ANY bacon in this at all...skinny chips were lovely! Was glad I didn't go for the fish and chips as it was really fat chips....and not a lot of them...plus the fish was sitting on top of the chips???? What was that about ? Dessert of sticky toffee pudding was nice ...not the best I have had, but palatable. Overall, I wouldn't rush back.....had better lunches in much better and cleaner surroundings! It's just a bit dreary inside...even in the bar and not just the dungeon where we ate ....could be better tbh. It was quite an expensive lunch too!"

"Popped by for a full breakfast, asked for a potato scone instead of egg and was refused as it is a set menu. After little thought I just decided to leave as the lady was pretty blunt about it. Only two people in the cafe at one table so wasn't as if it was busy either. Nice one darling but that was just plain stupidity"
