"Amazing food, always consistent. After dining here 10+ times I can easily say grounds and greens never disappoints. Food, Drinks and Baked items are always 10/10. Definitely one of my favourite vegan cafes in the lower mainland. I don't normally leave reviews but this place is too good not to! Highly recommend."

"A fine German original neighbourhood deli here in White Rock that serves fresh cold cuts and cheeses from around the globe. They make the salads in house and it is a popular lunch spot for one of Wolf's Deli daily sandwich features. The Roast beef is mighty tasty. Good selection of condiments, sausages and salami. Great deli to pick up a quick picnic lunch to enjoy down on the pier promenade. It is, what it is. Clean and efficient. One day I hope they get a debit machine."

"Took clients for dinner who just moved to White Rock. The Labni which was made in house was very good and the crab cakes were some of the best ever had. The Seafood Stew Hot Pot was just okay, needed some vegetables in the broth to make it feel like a meal. I had the Arugula salad which was also just okay- uneventful. I did not like the chicken that I had on the salad. It was over cooked and torn up slightly and put back together to look like a breast so it was not very pleasing to look at. Can't remember what our clients had but they seemed happy. The service was fine except that our waitress was not very diplomatic. Young and needs more training. We asked for tequila shooters and she mentioned the brands they had. We chose one and she said "okay you want the cheap one." The ladies chose Goldshlagel and she brought it to the table cold which is correct but did not shake the bottle so we had no gold flakes. She said that this is the way they always pour it but she could take it back and shake the bottle first for us. Remember customer comes first, we are paying for a dining experience, make it memorable so we come back and we tell others to come back. Food was good, prices were somewhat high but it is on the water. It is not fine dining but I still think worthy of a try. Hopefully they do some staff training not just on their drinks but on their food and how things are made and where their ingredients come from, so when we ask they have confidence in their answers."

"First timer. The experience overall is best described as a rollercoaster. Made a last minute reservation on a Friday evening which was accommodated, and very much appreciated, however, the overall experience left us all bit saddened considering the price point of the menu relative to the experience expected relative to that.Our server only had a couple tables and the restaurant wasn 't full thought our time there, but it took about 20 minutes to take our first beverage order. And things just went a bit downhill after that. She was pleasant at first greet but afterwards became inattentive, flat, and didn 't check in much for beverages. It was nice to be informed that the Tomahawk would take about 45 minutes but it took quite a bit longer then that. This would have been fine but during that time she was visibly vacant.A Tomahawk Steak and a few bottles of wine plus a wide selection of appies were had. The cocktails were 'fine ' and prompt but the bottles of wine would take a long time. Able to finish your cocktail before the bottles arrived long. It was just odd.We all have zero complaints about the food. The back of the house are dialed in and everything was excellent and delicious. It seemed a tad odd that our steak came out first and we waited for the appies afterwards but it all worked out.Approx 3 hrs beginning to end. Atmosphere in the restaurant is quite nice. Its cute and sophisticated, but for the amount of money spent relative to the overall experience, we did not leave feeling like it was good value at a price point that high. Our bill was also incorrect . I 'd like to reiterate though, food was excellent. The tomahawk was cooked perfectly and the mushrooms were some of the best cooked I 've had and those can be challenging little sponges in the kitchen."

"I absolutely love Islands Cafe! The atmosphere and vibe takes me straight to Hawaii. There is plenty of seating and they are always playing fun music. Their coffee is amazing, directly imported in from Hawaii. I love that they have live music nights and offer an array of Hawaiian beers. If you are in the white rock area I highly suggest you check this place out!"
