"We decided to splurge on a nice, group dinner one evening after enjoying wine, cheese, breads, fruits and charcuterie appetizers at our rented villa. Wow, what a delight Le Clos is! Several of had the fish of the day (one whole fish for every two people). The fish was paraded around on a silver platter for us all to see, before the maitre d’ filleted them for us at a nearby serving table. The fish was cooked to perfection; perhaps the best sea bass I have ever tasted! The accompanying plate of potatoes and vegetables were on par with the fish. Other members of the party had the calamari, squid and beef. All were outstanding, and tastes were shared. The wine list wasn’t large, but our selections were very enjoyable. Dessert... ahh, the dessert. We ordered two of the citron tart was the favorite, though the panna cotta, creme brûlée were also eaten with relish. The chocolate mousse wasn’t bad, but it was not on par with the others. The atmosphere, eating in an outside garden, was second to none. Our dessert time was accompanied by choir music from the nearby church... what a treat! Three members of our party returned a couple of days later for lunch, and said it was all delicious. What a gem!"

"Located on a quiet side street in Cassis, this bistro served up the best risotto ever. We started with the friture de la mer, a freshly fried start to the meal. The gambas and scampi risotto was to die for. The prawns were fresh and...cooked to perfection, and everything was seasoned extremely well. We ended on a homemade nougat ice cream topped with a raspberry coulis and fresh fruits, absolutely delicious. The waiter was attentive and friendly. An elderly local passed by us and wished us a good meal. Overall, it was a very warm ambiance, we enjoyed it."

"Reserved a table for a summer evening meal as a family. Although service was very friendly, it took minutes to be able to order drinks and another to see them appear, not cold enough either. The restaurant was far from being full but...waitresses seem busier chatting with their friends than looking after their customers. Once food arrived hour and minutes after we sat down), it was very inconsistent in quality. Nice carpaccio and pizette, average bolognese, and lasagnas and raviolis that may as well have come straight out of a microwave oven. Needless to say we didn’t try the desserts. The euros (two small bottles of beer) removed from the bill as an apology for the wait wasn’t exactly a grand gesture out of a bill of euros. Try something else, there are plenty of other nice places in Cassis’backstreets. Even if we had not waited that long, the food is not worth the price list."

"Located in the heights of the old town of cassis, this restaurant is located in a beautiful shaded courtyard, very pleasant. The service was very nice and efficient and the dishes of good bill and homemade pizzas to share in the entrance, excellent whole wolf (35€, very correct as price) and pasta with well cooked palourdes. Some small flats however: not changed between entrance and dishes, too oily and without too much taste and especially a map of the indigent wines, with only one reference in white, shameful cassis.Good evening anyway"
