"A slightly dated hotel, which is however close to the start of the slopes (10 minutes on foot) at a suitable price for Switzerland. The family room for 4/5 people (with 2 bunk beds) is not large but quite practical and clean, contrary to some reviews read. On the other hand, mattress to change! The bathroom had a slight bad smell. Quite basic and noisy breakfast buffet, but the breads are very good, and even the different coffees (machines). Very friendly staff, both in the restaurant and at the front desk."

"I often go there after a long week of work to relax on the terrasse when the weather is good or just enjoy a beer inside. Very friendly service and fast serving. A nice place to just go and have coffee if this is all you want."

"Cosy, warm, comfortable. Great value. Lovely friendly helpful and hospitable owners/staff. Great breakfast buffet. Parking. Secure ski storage. Comfy beds. Great WiFi and its free of charge. Food options limited though not sure it qualifies as a restaurant, but perhaps it ramps up for peak periods. Loved my stay and would stay again."

"We were a group of 6 visiting Leysin, and wanted to go for a drink. Davinda looked pretty cool, but it was empty in that night. We walked in anyway. 15 minutes before they had to close, the manager brought us the bill and said straight away: "Girls, you have to go, because you are not the ones that keep my business running, but the students." So is he only good to the students?! We still had 15 minutes, and we were all in our second drink. Then we told him that, and that we were going to finish our drinks and go and that in 15minutes we would be out of the bar, and he was very rude toward us, he said he didn't need us for anything because he has the students that go there and spent fortunes and not just like a bill of 112CHF like ours! What!? Because we are not students, we don't have the right to be treated like people and customers?! And he also made racist comments on our "stupid" accents like he said. Never again. Hope that the students are aware of this. And they should be careful, he only likes them because of their money."

"Having been here a few years ago, and knowing that ownership had changed, we weren't sure what to expect but decided to give it go, and were very pleasantly surprised. The menu is short, but varied, and the food is excellently cooked. Meat and fish options are served with a selection of well prepared vegetables, and either potatoes, rice, or pasta, and all dishes are tasty and presented nicely. Impressive with just one person in the kitchen!"
