"I would go to Mensch's all the time if I could afford it. The deli classics here are very good and there are some really unique things they do with the food. Smoked salmon is amazing, for example. So is the babka. It is expensive, though. That's the only drawback. Oh, and if they could just Toronto style bagels!!"

"Drunken Master is always raving about Harvest Deli and how it has the best sandwiches in the city. I also have an ex who used to rave about the same thing. Although I’d been there a couple of times when it first opened, it had been quite some time, so I figured that it was time for a return visit. Plus I wanted to see if Drunken Master really knows what he’s talking about. So this past weekend I walked the couple of blocks over to Harvest Deli just before noon to pick myself up some lunch. Since I knew I’d be blogging about the experience, I decided to go crazy and order two sandwiches and a soup so that I’d have more to blog about. I briefly considered eating them in the restaurant, but figured that if I took them to go at least I wouldn’t have to deal with the shaming looks of people seeing me eating enough food for two people. Being me is hard."

"What’s Up? Hot Dog! is nestled in the former Master Chef location along East Hastings Mike looks around at WUHD in wonder. He used to hang out with friends at Master Chef back in the day, tucking into an egg salad sandwich, picking at homemade fries, sipping a coke from a can. We’re a long way from Master Chef in this newly redesigned, retro diner playing punk music."
