"Recently dined in a couple of highly rated restaurants in Vancouver --- including TripAdvisor's current #1. However the surprise winner was the unpretentious Ho Yuen Kee.Large fresh-from-the-tank lobster cooked to perfection on top of a hefty serving of sticky rice saturated by the drippings of the succulent crustacean. Couldn't get any better than that. We ordered 3 other dishes, 2 were standouts, but the lobster dish is really worth writing home about. Writing this makes me want to go back pronto --- alas, it's 13 hours flight away!Waitress Cherry was efficient. Price was reasonable. Place needs a bit of scrubbing."

"Celine Fish and Chips is one of the many restaurants on Granville Island in Vancouver. Their Halibut and Cod was absolutely delicious. We are here twice while we were visiting in Vancouver."

"For this review, we went to Mui Ngo Gai for a family dinner with our kids and grandkids, having been there a few times before. The restaurant is clean and very spacious. We found the cuisine to be very authentic, very tasty, of good quality and great value. The service is also very good as well always felt welcomed. You can't go wrong with any of their assortment of pho beef noodle soups. But our favorites are the tapioca dumpling wraps and crispy spring rolls for appetizers, and the pan fried crepe and grilled beef short rib as part of the main course, along with a couple of large bowls of their pho beef noodle soups. They normally serve the crepe only at dinner time because it takes a while to make."

"A business associate and I go here often for discussions over delicious food. We are always pleased with the food, the service is good, the surroundings generally quiet and the prices very modest compared to many places in Vancouver. It's usually less than $20 for two good sized lunches for two hungry guys. They take credit cards which is not that common for Vietnamese restaurants anywhere I travel. Both of us usually order vermicelli dishes with chicken, pork, beef or a combination of two of them. Very nice people run the restaurant, and we like that it's a quiet place, with none of the yelling back and forth between staff members, which happens at some pho places. You'll enjoy your meal, won't cost you much and you'll come back often, I'm sure."

"I absolutely love Simba's! They call it an outlet because it used to have another location but I believe the one in the West End is the only one. It is a Vancouver legend. Any friend, family member, or work colleague I have ever taken there has loved it, and continued to talk about it later (e.g. when are we going back to Simba's? . The interior is decorated and the staff use wonderfully colourful uniforms. It's very clean and well maintained, and the owner is so friendly. The best however, of course, is the food. A fusion of coastal east African tastes (Indian and African with the best being the chicken sirwa. Large portions, affordable, freshly made, and with fantastic condiments and side dishes (rice, bread . Go once and it will become one of your favourite restaurants."

"Seafood restaurant. Shrimps come in a plastic bag to your table. Turned me off. Just too many plastic bags being served with meals. Waste and landfill is what I thought!"
