"Food was good, felt like this place has existed for some time, judging by the food. Enjoyed the sizzler and grilled seafood. Staff were friendly and helpful. No cigarette shops nearby so recommend bringing your own. Crème brulee was good too."

"It was our last night in Pondi and very hesitantly went to Satsang for a dinner and it proved to be not so good experience. Keeping a fancy name and lot of french names in the menu does not make a restaurant excellent one. Other than the ambiance nothing was there to boast upon. Not recommended as there are much more better cafes and restaurants around. Location: It is in the Labourdonnais Street in White Town area of the city and quite close to the beach. "I visited this place for dinner in December 2015 with my Husband and in-laws.After spending a tiring yet fun filled day on the beaches of Pondicherry, we were starving for some piping hot and tasty food.<br>

There was only 1 more table occupied, besides ours, so we were happy that service wont be delayed.Unfortunately just before we placed our order, a super excited group of around 9 people came in... (and boy they were loud).. but well... thats pretty okay.. but the only issue was the our order was delayed because of the group. There was surprisingly just 1 server that particular night (surprising, because it was a day after Christmas and a place like Pondicherry is packed with tourists.. so restaurants generally keep extra hands.)<br>

*Hot & Sour chicken soup:<br>
I loved it. in a lot of places they pour in more than necessary amounts of Soy Sauce in Chinese soups, which destroys the taste. But the soup here was excellent and had gracious amounts of chicken in it.<br>

*Prawn Yellow Curry:<br>
It was served piping hot, (just like we wanted) and was accompanied with steamed rice. I had never tried Thai yellow curry before, so I am not really sure if it tasted the way it is supposed to... all I can say is I loved how it tasted and it went perfectly with the hot steamed rice.<br>

*Penne Pesto Chicken: Okay there was a lot of confusion with this dish. It definitely had a Basil'ish flavour, but it did not have chicken.. and not a tinge of cream or cherry tomatoes , like it was described in the menu. We realized it when all of us had taken servings on our plates and tasted it. We asked our server if there was any confusion with the chef as that was not a chicken pasta. He went in the kitchen to confirm and came out saying, that the chef made something, but he doesn't know exactly if he made chicken or veg pasta... (ummmm... bad day chef??? I hope he was alright)We all had already eaten a bit of it.. and whatever it was, tasted really good, so we decided not to make an issue and asked the server to charge for whatever the dish costs. But when the bill arrived, it did not have the pasta on it.. we reminded the server but the management graciously offered to keep it that way as it was a mistake on their end.It was really sweet of them to do so.<br>

Overall, the food was amazing. The place was neat and cosy with a very simple and soothing ambiance and service was exceptional.Will definitely visit again, whenever I get a chance.."

"Anytime of the day this place would be just like a gem discovered.I loved the seafood and roof top ambience was so good it just made me forget the croching heat .I had ordered Bang Bang chicken and it was deliciously served with rice and salad and for starters the prawns golden fry were just mind blowing.Dont miss the taste whenever you are round."

We visited La Villa for lunch while on an impromptu weekend trip to Puducherry. Originally intending to dine at Villa Shanti, we were directed to La Villa by the Villa Shanti crew, since there was no table available at the latter.Set in a bungalow reminiscent of the old French homes in Puducherry, La Villa serves continental cuisine, and a good selection of seafood dishes. The outdoor seating is recommended, since the area is shaded by trees, and the fans are always running; however, on a particularly hot day, I'd recommend sitting inside the bungalow.<br>

"Great burger joint in Pondicherry. Is actually a hut on a roof and very easy to miss. Pay attention to the street signs. We had burgers and pasta. Excellent burgers, well cooked and flavored. Acceptable price. Purely continental food so don't look for dal and roti. Can get a little warm in summer, otherwise excellent. <br>"
