"Vascos is the place to go if you want an experience. I have been there many times solo when visiting Sydney for business, and this visit was the first with another person.It's noisy, but in a great way -created by the background of great rock and roll playlists from the 60's to the latest. I am talking Rolling Stones, Foo Fighters and so much more.The bar staff create amazing mixed drinks and the selection of beers is small but varied in style. My favourite beer was 3-sheets.The food was great quality, we had the prawns with a Calabrese style sauce and the calamari. Both good size to share.The owners and staff make everyone feel welcome, and you can tell a lot of the customers are regulars."

"Loud noisy dogs.Impolite staff,average service,okay prices,alright pinball machine an a short walk to either redfern or central train station.An despite their written notices saying otherwise,when me an my mates went there the standard of 'social distancing ' was not on 3 separate times properly observed putting...peoples health seriously at risk!!How many other pubs doing this??!!!Me an my mates will go an spend to better service an more friendly pubs which 'practice good health measures instead of poor health standards!!We enjoyed leaving more than staying"

"Had a lovely meal here. Shared six dishes between four people. Didn't leave full (bought a pizza to share on the way home) but the food was good. Staff were friendly but an extra floor person or bar person would have been good. $340 for four people for a casual dinner (including an aperitif each and two bottles of wine which was around $170) worth so under $50 a head isn't too bad.Although I thought it was good and I enjoyed myself, I will say, for a tapas meal of similar quality in Spain, it would probably cost less than half for the food but that's just an Australian pricing thing."

"My partner and I went to Allegra one week after it opened as it is close to where we live and the menu looked very interesting.The service was good and you could tell that they were working hard to create good customer service.There was no printed wine list so we had to ask the staff about the options, which was not a problem.We ordered Valpolicella after starting with two cocktails and for food we had the delicious spanner crab arrancini balls followed by the excellent burrata with fig. The ingredients were all fresh and the flavours were fantastic.We then had the semolina rigatoni with oxtail ragu and the mezzaluna filled with pumpkin in a burnt butter sage sauce. Both were well executed and the pasta cooked perfectly.We somehow managed to have a dessert each. The pannacotta with strawberries done three ways was superb and my tiramisu was one of the best i've had. It was far too big and I couldn't finish it.The only slight negative was that the air conditioning was too cold, however, I mentioned this to our server and the feedback was well received.Overall I would highly recommend this restaurant and my partner and I will definitely be going back."
