"Our daughter gave us a gift certificate for hacienda vieja to thank us for sitting for her house. I like Mexican cuisine and we often visit Mexican restaurants in Des Moines. I really didn't know about this restaurant... I probably had no high expectations of being honest. We enjoyed the best Tortilla soup we've ever had. It was not a big bowl, but it was packed with chicken, cilantro and vegetables!! Absolutely delicious!! Then maybe we thought we could share something else, so we ordered a chicken quesadilla. It was huge and packed with cheese, chicken and covered with guacamole and sour cream! Yum... couldn't finish everything... even it was very cheap!!"
