"Really sad to rate poorly! We visited on a Friday evening for a drink and really enjoyed it but Saturday night we attempted to visit for a drink before returning to our hotel and were greeted by 2 of the rudest alleged bouncers. They looked my husband up and down and refused to let him in. I pointed out how rude he was and they became very aggressive. Very disappointing. I say alleged bouncers as they had no formal evidence they were when I questioned them."

"This is a picture postcard pub, just outside the city center. a pretty small interieur, divided into different areas, creates a very cozy environment. although it should probably be classified as gastropub, it is for casual drinkers and regular, which is a really positive. also they can get qualitatiw high quality small food (when too hampstead preisen! at the bar I also love. the drinks prices are high, even according to hampstead standards, which would make me to rate it 4.5 stars if that was an option. beautiful, professional staff and care for family members makes it to 5 stars of my opinion."

"I had been contact with Toby and Pete for months in trying to organise an event for my workplace. Both were incredibly polite and helpful over email and on the phone, even when there were a few hiccups with other parties also wanting to book on the same dates. Still they were very accommodating and disclosed plenty of information when it came to allergens and ingredients. In terms of the actual event, it was very nicely delivered in the cellar bar. The food was exemplary and those serving were informative and friendly. The venue was a very nice spot to hang out in as well. If I have to book this pub again for an event again I wouldn't hesitate. Maybe just a bit of feedback that might help in the future. It might be helpful if alcohol was used less in the vegetarian food as some of the guests I had couldn't eat the items because that wouldn't make it halal. However, this is a very minor point that didn't affect me personally, and I would recommend this place to anyone."

"Gorgeous and popular Hampstead pub tucked in at the bottom of Hampstead Heath. Beautifully appointed, stylish, clean, comfortably posh and sprawling restaurant pub. On an icy Sunday their lovely evergreen garden was rightly closed and the interior was bright and warm, seating beautifully spaced, roomy enough for prams and high chairs. excellent warm service and very good special Sunday roasts plus they do Moet by the glass. What’s not to love."

"Loved the place, the atmosphere, the food, friendly and helpful customer service. We had the fish chips for our mains and the winter food crumble for desert. Food was genuine and top. And I cannot not mention Pooja our server who was so helpful, attentive and nice to us. Loved The Ship Tavern so much so that we decided to visit again"

"The only time I have ever asked to remove service charge due to bad service/behaviour. The French-speaking barman (we spoke in French) was by far the most rude and unpleasant bar/restaurant staff member I have ever seen in the UK. Very annoyed at the fact that we simply asked if he could kindly turn on the heater outside."

"As it was a rainy day the place was very quiet compared to normal. However, the service from the bar staff was just appalling. I ordered a spritz from the summer cocktail menu but the barman didn't seem to know what it was despite showing him a number of times. I don't know what he made me but it wasn't what I asked for and I'm pretty sure it had no alcohol in it. The second time I went to the bar there was nobody there. I tried to catch the eye of one of the waitresses serving food, but she did all she could to ignore me. A few other people arrived at the bar and we all stood about not knowing what to do. Eventually the barman emerged from wherever he had been hiding and had a long chat with the waitress, before ambling behind the bar again to take orders. No smiles, no apologies, no eye contact, nothing. If you want to have locals make up your trade out of season or when the sun's not out, you need to do better than this."
