"This was one of our favourite restaurants in Edinburgh, and we have been several times. We had a lovely lunch, couldn’t fault the food, apart from the fact that there wasn’t a dairy free dessert and they don’t have any milk alternatives for coffee. However, the sting in the tail was paying with a gift voucher which I received for my birthday. We spent just under £125, and the voucher was for £150. The voucher does say that it can only be used once, so I emailed a couple of times to clarify, but didn’t receive any response. I then phoned and was assured that any balance not spent would be put on a new voucher. We paid and when no one brought a voucher back we queried it. Apparently the restaurant had responded to my email, and so the Manager felt unable to honour what I’d been told on the phone. So, I’d strongly advise against buying gift vouchers from this restaurant unless you’re happy to pay a £25 premium."

"We came here for an anniversary dinner on the back of a recommendation, and what a fantastic recommendation it was. We chose the Tour Menu with wines, 8 courses with matching wines. Each course was a creation I'd never seen before, with a wide range of fine ingredients well prepared presented with flavours I'm still talking about weeks after the meal. The service was excellent, all the staff had the right balance of friendly and personable with professional and discrete, the food delicious and matching wines worked really well with each course. Would definitely recommend it as a place for a nicer meal out. And I absolutely intend to eat there again."
