"There is not enough cake to describe how rank this meal was, so I will simply stick to the factual: lychee cocktail came out with the flut and two frozen lycheee as a friend of decoration ordered a zero beer and realized halfway through that. they drank 5.1% alcoholic beer. After he told the employee, the manager came out and joked on the approach to say "who is drunk?" I'm sure she tried to be funny. she might have abducted it, but at the end, after offering my friend a replacement zero-alcoholic beer, she said: “By accepting this replacement beer, they will not receive a refund”, which would have been in order again if the art, as it was said, was really apologetic what it is not, only through this announcement. the hühnerburger was the most disgusting thing I've ever eaten. I have starved, but I have to go to a dentist now, as it was, to eat deep roasted car tires. it could also have been calamari, the source it had in it. How does a huh taste like that? is it because it has been frozen for ever? How can you make chicken and gum sauce? I've never eaten anything like that. nice young boy tried a good customer service, but really that eating and all that didn't give him much to work with. So this replacement beer...... she doesn't prove a refund. I'll never evaluate it normally. this time, it's justified."

"Lovely outlook and comfy chairs. Good drink service and tables clean Commenced with scallops in a nice sauce but needed to be balanced salt sugar. Oysters were beautiful big plump quality, however the topping was very sharp acidic. Raw king fish was beautiful all of...it. The chicken liver parfait is the nicest I've ever had. The crisp seeded lavish typebread is delicious. Served with prunes but again a sharp acidic juice needed balancing. Pork belly plentiful but poorly cooked dry base and soft crackling. Terrible coleslaw which is actually a nasty flavored vinegar?? Fish well cooked plentiful. Big meaty mushrooms didn't seem to match the delicate fish. Dessert chocolate mousse cream on chocolate crumb with raspberries was very nice. The sour dough bread is served with a type of butter whip...yuk it's like cheap margarine. I suggest to order off the menu and not go for the chef choices."

"Food and excellent service. possibly the best meal in hobart (or everywhere) I had in years. great selection, exceptional quality and so a beautiful atmosphere. only critique is that one of us ordered a "feed me' menu, the other one seafood plate without realizing us, it delivered a feed for two people on a single teller (so we thought it was for one) as well as the seafood plate. when we were afraid, we were told that it was "per number of people at the table" not complaining about the quantity or quality of the food, but the menu and the staff were not clear and not understood what we were trying to order. made for a very expensive meal. that said I would go back at any time and highly recommend, as it is really a big place (will only be attentive to the overview of the menus in future.)"

"Don't expect your average pub fair when you eat at The Republic. The menu offers a broad flavour range, with some definite flair added since I last ate there aeons ago. I had the chargrilled octopus, and while the occy could have been a little more generous for the price tag, it was delicious, every mouthful a morsel of delight. "The seitan duck burger was so nice. And they have plenty of vegan sauces and options. The burgers are not vegan as they come, you have to make them vegan. Some purely vegan burgers on the menu would be better. So we know we are not getting dairy by accident."
