"Staying at the attached Holiday Inn Express, I didn't want to go outside to catch some supper. Wandered down the hall to the Free Press Bistro which was very quiet. As a vegan, I was able to find a vegetable panini which was quite good. They had a nice wine selection and the prices were reasonable. Nothing fancy. Most impressive was their server who was bubbly, pleasant, and fast. Desserts looked good! I think this place would have a hard time competing with other more chi-chi bistros in that area, but it's fine."

"Location convenient if you're on Whyte Avenue. Parking there's enough, Szechuan dishes nothing to write home about. Chicken chow mein, beef with brocolli the cook must have spilled the salt and soya sauce in the dishes way too salty. Chop suey choy if you like bean sprouts, that's all there is to it. First time setting foot in this restaurant and will be my last time."

"I've never been in this restaurant but my friend told me she had noodles there and it was good so we decided to order in. They have their menu online and we decided to get the Dinner for 2 which include chicken fried rice, beef with mixed veggies (celery, carrots, mushrooms, broccoli and cabbage), choice of spring rolls, egg roll or green onion cake (we got 4 spring rolls), and then you choose an entrée and we picked sweet and sour pork. The price is $13.95/person so we were short a few dollars to get free delivery (within 6 km) so I added the black bean beef and rice noodles for $10.95.The man who took my order wasn't the friendliest but efficient as the order arrived within 30 minutes and correct. There was a lot of food to last a few meals. The rice and noodles were filled to the top of the rectangular containers and the round take out tins were also filled well.The food taste and quality was good and better than another take out place we've tried. Would order from them again and next time try the chow mein and a seafood dish."

"I went to this restaurant probably about 10 years ago and recall having a decent lunch. however, i had delivery about 1 year ago. it was delivered hot but was only medicore. then, we went for lunch recently. my mother uses a walker and i felt like we were sat in a corner table back by the kitchen so that we'd be "out of the way". we ordered water with no ice and were served hot water in very old scratched up glasses. the service was extremely poor and staff were very unfriendly. the lunch special portions were ridiculously large but it had very little meat and almost all rice. i enjoyed the sauce they had on my schwechan pork and on my vegetables but when i asked for a take home box, they just dumped it all together so rice was mixed in with everything and all the sauces just got mixed together and visually, it was very unappetizing, very disappointing and ended up throwing it out. i don't think i'd ever take anyone back there. too bad because they have been there forever and prices aren't too bad. the soup that they served - chicken noon which i thought was very strange for a chinese retaurant and the hot and sour soup was not very good."
