"The ambiente is rustic but beautiful. In winter you sit down in the cellar, in summer there are also tables in front of the door I think. the tapas taste typical. If you eat it as a proper food and not just as a wine tasting, you are fast at 30 € per person despite the prices of 4-10 euro per tapa. "We actually wanted to have dinner at nearby Domhof but it was fully booked so we decided to try something new. Modern but cost atmosphere at the same time. Beware of getting the table hidden behind the shelf where the grappa's and Schnaps are ..you will be disappointed b the speed and attentiveness of the waitress. Don't get me wrong, he spot is nice and calm, but even I highlighted that to the waitress, she had us wait for too long in a couple of occasions. Not sure if she was overwhelmed or did indeed not see us. The food is great though and we will be back, but taking a different table next time."

"We stayed here in June for a few days. The original building dates from but inside it is fully modernised. There are guest rooms, ours was number The room was spacious with a king size bed and crisp white linen. There windows overlooking the front of the hotel. The shower room was well equipped and quite roomy with lovely white fluffy towels. The staff made us very welcome and spoke excellent English. Breakfast was typical of the region with a selection of cheeses and cold meats alongside the cereals, fresh fruit salad, yoghurt and bread rolls. Eggs were also prepared to order scrambled or boiled . Fresh coffee and tea was supplied and orange juice was also provided. The guest house is spotlessly clean and modern inside. The location is ideal for exploring Speyer on foot as it is only a few steps up to the cathedral and into the main part of the historic town. It is also only a minute stroll to the River Rhine. If you have a car there is a car park right in front of the hotel, hidden from from view by shrubs and trees. We would highly recommend this establishment and look forward to staying here in the future."

"Last visit was a year ago, but this year the kitchen was even sharper. they will get traditional German cuisine, but with a twist. everything is wonderfully cooked, and taste blody well. they have a pretty decent wine card, with local producers. do not miss this place. if they are in the opposite."

"Bring cash, they don't take credit cards. we had the cordon bleu schnitzel, and it was not disappointed! so good. my hubby has the rumpsteak. from American standards it was hard and dry, even at a mid-tempo. he was happy that my carving was so big that he could have something! his kartoffel noodles were fantastic! our daughter was here a few years ago and then had a great experience. good to know that it is the test of time!"
