"Bantry is a beautiful town, and I would recommend anyone visit whilst they are in Ireland. Having a great little eatery like Box of Frogs there is just the icing on the cake. The Irish are known for their friendliness and warm welcomes, and the staff at Box of Frogs only reinforce this more. Such nice people, they could not have done more to make us feel welcome. I am vegan and gluten-free and the chef talked me through a huge list of ingredients he had that I could eat. He then made me the most incredible salad bowl that included fresh fruit, roasted new potatoes and vegetables, pesto, endives and countless other tasty elements that I can't remember because I was so busy enjoying every mouthful. My friend I was travelling with is omnivore, and she loved the options they had too. We washed our food down with a wheatgrass juice (incredible) and I also had an amazing vanilla chai latte (they had soya and almond milk available). The cost was very reasonable as well, and the restaurant has a lovely, relaxed feel to it. They also have a wine menu should you want it."

"Had dinner here with friends and it was so relaxed, so friendly, totally unhurried and excellent value. Its rare to find a place where you forget its a pub and restaurant and feel like you are in a good friend or relatives having a long dinner and chat with good company. Definitely a good place to go for a party or special occasion."

"Our family and friends party (10 in total enjoyed great sea food at this restaurant. I really liked the traditional feel of the premises (old stained glass entrance doors etc. , and that its family run. I also enjoyed the strong welcome we received and how the dishes were advertised described by the owner. You do pay a little extra for the food, as this place offers fresh seafood, which many other places wont provide. I found my own meal of scallops was very good (with a very tasty white sauce , and the mashed potato, and carrot and parsnip veg were excellent. I did not have the smoked salmon and prawns platter, but from seeing it delivered to other tables, it looked a favorite dish here, generously proportioned. I would gladly revisit again."
