"We first went here 30+years ago and manged to find it again this August holiday with the extended family joining us. The service is friendly, professional and well managed. The food, seafood especially, is beautifully cooked and there is an imaginative use of sauces and marinades, such as in the sardines starter, the dip to accompany the langoustines, and in the reduction served with the roasted pork. A lovely cheeseboard highlights the best of the region. Children's plates were equally well presented and were appetising. Local wines were reasonably priced and carefully served."

"We stopped on spec and given my english translation being poor and google translation being even worse a kind lady ( the wife of the owner/chef as it turned out ) offered for her husband to come out and translate for us.What a wonderful and friendly guy - made us feel very very welcome and after explaining the formula 14.90 Euro we both elected to have that. What an absolute delight the meal was - main was superbly cooked piece of lovely cod with new potatoes and delicious sauce. We both devoured the meal with french bread to mop up the sauce. The dessert was equally delicious with very finely sliced pineapple and a boule of mango ice cream to compliment it.Fantastic and afterwards the chef came out to have a chat with us ( speaking much better english than my pigeon french !!!) - he was so friendly and genuinely interested in knowing how we felt about our meal and if we enjoyed the food. In all honesty we both stated that it was an exceptionally enjoyable meal and for me about the best luncheon meal I have had in many a year. The owner/chef was so likeable and it was very evident that he has a passion for cooking food well and he cared about the customer. Not always the case in most restaurants I have visited in the past few years.If you are visiting Noirmoutier on your holiday give Le Duplex a try - we were certainly glad we did. If we were in the area again I would 100% revisit the restaurant without doubt"

"On a day cycling around Noirmoutier we stopped here for a fab lunch. We sat in the little sunny courtyard and ordered drinks from the waitress and mussels from a separate little kitchen in the corner. A stone's throw from the beach, you could easily believe the mussels had been gathered that same morning. Lovely."

"On the last night of our 4th visit to Noirmoutier (Sept 2016), we tried this restaurant as a last minute recommendation by neighbouring campers. It was very busy and we hadn't booked but after a few minutes wait, we were seated inside. The food and wine were excellent. The atmosphere friendly. Felt somehow more French and less touristy than some restaurants on the island."
