"Parking lot full of truckers pickup trucks. Inside there were a couple of lawmen. Cabbage had jalepenos. Sandwich served without a bun is a ' no see um '. We felt back home after a 4 week road trip up East. Great food!"

"Very disappointed in our thanksgiving experience at the Hilton. The Heirloom Kitchen was not even open, despite reservations being taken on Open Table. We were seated by the Hilton in their Thanksgiving Buffet in their banquet rooms, however my family was placed in the back where the sun was shining directly in faces and our table linens were dirty. The food was sub par and the buffet choices were limited. The overall experience was marred by the poor service, the smoking of the staff out on the balcony, and the inflated cost of the dinner"

"January 23rd we visited The Oar House in Rockwall, near the Harbor. Established about 20 years ago, The Oar House is simply Rockwall! I give this place 5 stars and here’s why: the Oar house is quiet, romantic, cozy, rustic yet elegant, with authentic wood floors with brick and cobblestone accents. The décor and authentic feel of an old, expensive cruise ship is strongly represented here. Think Titanic meets pirate ship. The crisp, white table cloths give The Oar House a formal nuance while the rustic floors and ceilings balance out the ambiance with a more relaxed feel. The prices are on the high side but the food and service are impeccable! For appetizers, we had the large, button mushrooms filled with veal and seasoned with a lovely balance of rosemary and thyme in a creamy tomato sauce which was perfect for dipping our fresh garlic bread. We also shared the baby clams in a creamy sauce. I’m not much of a shellfish person, but the sauce on these was delicious! Each week, the chef at The Oar House, puts together a special menu that is ever changing so I ordered sole, garlic mashed potatoes and a perfectly cooked veg medley from among the few “Chef’s Choice” dishes. The fish was cooked to perfection! This came with a side salad which was fresh and delicious! Duane kept it simple with a bowl of lobster bisque and he described it as rich with multiple layers of flavor, the best he’s had, and a cross between lobster bisque and roasted pepper soup, which sang to him! This place is going to be one of our favorites! We were invited to return for lunch, as the menu is slightly different. "Great margaritas and I love the San salvadorian dishes like the pupusas and plantains. My husband likes the chicken and champanones and I usually get the Gloria's super dinner. For lunch I like Nancy's favorite. Great food in a great atmosphere at the RockwLl Harbor."

"We had a nice indoor dining experience with Fireside Chicken and Tacos. A clean welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. We ordered for our children two three piece Chicken Finger baskets with a side of potatoes that was delicious. The kid's chicken quesadilla was about the size of a taco and could be handled well by my 5 year old. My husband ordered a street combo platter with steak and grilled chicken. It has a side of beans, rice and warm soft tortillas. I ordered the fish tacos that tasted great with the vegetables and a sprit of lime to bring out all the natural flavorings. I did like the hot chips and salsa for the table. The green pepper sauce is a bit spicy. Overall, we enjoyed the evening and would recommend for a large family to be able to find something on the menu to enjoy."

"This is the first time that my husband and I have ever been here, it was so nice the only thing that wasn't was waiting on the bartender to serve us another beer. A waitress kept saying she had to wait on the bartender, plus she got my order and my granddaughter's wrong. I was supposed to have pickled jalapeno peppers with sausage and chopped brisket and she had a chopped brisket sandwich. We had our sides right, but she got the sandwiches wrong and my granddaughter didn't eat because it burnt her mouth. It was kind of pricey so I'm not sure if we'll go there again, but the food was excellent. So we might or might not be back, I'm pushing on going back not with so many people. I would recommend this place to a lot of people because the atmosphere is fantastic, you can look out over the lake and it's a beautiful sight."
