"Bright, light, modern and welcoming, the butcher's workshop was full of men working their way through, largely, meat dishes as you might expect. Enthusiastic and cheery waitresses set a welcoming tone. A plat du jour of Navarin d'agneau and well-cooked runner beans, carrots, potatoes, wowed my wife and me, accompanied by a half-litre carafe of deep red Syrah. Desserts of a thick slice and I mean thick of fresh pineapple bathed in warm caramel sauce and red fruits on creamy blancmange were excellent. We started with large glasses of kir.
