"There is something for everyone at 1928 Cuban Bistro, especially if you don’t mind being a little adventurous. The restaurant is small, very clean and has an outside seating area. It can get busy during the lunch rush, so don’t come if you are on a tight deadline as sandwiches are made to order. If you have a few minutes, you will be treated to a nice lunch.Cuban Sandwich very traditional, but does not have the touch of sweetness I am used to in South Florida.Pan Con Bistec now this is a sandwich, pressed like a Cuban with lettuce, mayo and chimi sauce.Cuban Sloppy Joe just like a sloppy Joe, but without the tomato flavor. This was SENSATIONAL but almost too tall eat. Get this, you will not be disappointed."

"Relaxing and peaceful views here! When I come here, I only dine outside in the back facing the ocean. Personally, I enjoy coming here during the week (during the week they’re only open Wednesday through Friday 7am to 11am) because it’s typically never crowded and I enjoy the peace and tranquility that come with the amazing views and ocean breeze. The menu items are very good quality and reasonably priced. My only reason for docking a star on my review is because they’re booked quite frequently (usually majority of the restaurant is reserved), service is not the fastest (however, the managing owner Carol is kind and amiable), and on numerous occasions they don’t answer the phone so it’s difficult to plan breakfast or brunch when they don’t answer the phone and on several occasions, I’ve had to be turned away on a empty hungry stomach which isn’t a good feeling. Otherwise, I’d definitely recommend checking this place out if you have the opportunity. My personal recommendations are the mimosas (get the bottomless jug) and the blue crabomelette."

"Holy shitake mushroom! The loaded breakfast potatoes were a perfect balance of bell peppers, creamy avocado, a sweet teryaki glaze, just a hint of spice, salted potato, wilted spinach and shitake mushrooms that are prepared to taste like bacon. This is a dish to remember. One of the best potato hashes I've found in Jax and it's a staple I order at every restaurant that offers it. The excellent expresso wasn't bitter but still bold. The perfect sized cup of tomato bisque"
