"I think I've been influenced by my in laws too much. It is the only reason that when I travel hundreds or thousands of miles (kilometers for my Canadian friends), I have to stop at the nearest Asian restaurant or supermarket. As we were entering Edmonton on Highway 2, we saw it. The big red H-Mart sign. As a card carrying member, it almost feel like being home in Southern California. The layout was the same with the way they arrange the entrance as they channel you through the produce section. The temperature inside was cold, just like at my local one. Like my local one, they also had a food court. The only thing missing was what we were looking to buy. I almost wanted to buy something just to see if my H-Mart card worked, but I knew I couldn't since I had no Canadian dollars with me. It's an A-OK type of place. If only they had what we were looking for."

"I?m sad to see so many bad reviews for this location because my dinning experience was very different from the recent customers! Please read my review and consider giving this location a try afterwards. We visited this restaurant earlier this month andhad a blast! From the moment we walked in we could see the effort the owner and manager put in to renovate the space. Comparedto the last restaurant, they unitized the space very well to maximize comfortable seating. It was our first time there and wegot the four piece chicken combo and substituted fries with onion rings for $16.49. The chicken was juicy with a crunchyskin!?? The staff were also quick with our order and very friendly. I had a lovely chat with the manager (I think? where Isuggested them to put more spice into the chicken ???? and they recommended me to try the jalapeño poppers! Still not spicyenough for me but I appreciated our chat together. I would definitely visit them again and keep them in mind for Tuesdaysbecause of their $4.99 deal. See you soon guys, keep up the good work! ?????? (P.S. They are also offering ice cream cone andpop drink for $0.99 until the end of September only in Alberta!"

"I'm not crazy about fried chicken, I never have been. It's good don't get me wrong but I don't ever think of it as my go to meal when I'm hungry. This thinking is now changed since coming to Popeyes. I tried this spot last week, mainly to say I've tried it (with it being a US chain starting to expand into YEG). It was busy even at 1pm, waited in a short line and ordered their 2pc combo (which came with a drink, a side and a butter biscuit). The chicken we pre fried and stacked in large piles behind the cashiers which made me worried about the crispness and freshness. Upon my first bite my worried disappeared it was perfectly crispy and impossibly juicy. It had to be the juiciest fried chicken I've ever had. Great seasoning and even better when I dipped it in the buttermilk ranch sauce I purchased as well. The Cajun fries were good reminded me a bit of Arby's curly fries seasoning just not curly. The biscuit was buttery and flakey. All in all I was pleasantly surprised and now I totally understand why all the fuss about Popeyes in the US. Glad we have now two locations to grab this tasty chicken at!"

"I ordered the spaghetti and stuffed meatballs, and did not really enjoy it (too much spinach, as I'm not a spinach fan). The manager stopped by and asked us how our meal was. When I told him that I wasn't really enjoying it, he insisted on a substitute at no extra charge, even though I explained that there was nothing wrong with the food, it just wasn't to my taste. In less time than I thought possible, he, personally, brought my new meal (a prime rib he had recommended). Delicious! Whilst the Sawmills menu isn't really for a blue collar guy like myself, the service, from Noric the server to the Manager (who's name I didn't get), was absolutely stellar. If you enjoy more refined foods than I do, I couldn't recommend a better place."

"This was a great spot for a girls night out. The amount of food was crazy and so just sooo good. Our server was amazing and the pianist was delightful. He even played a rendition of gangsters paradise for us. I would strongly recommend for any event."

"Two of us went there on a spur of the moment lunch. I had the 1/4 chicken with grilled veggies and my friend had a 1/4 chicken with fries. You get exactly what you order, nothing less, nothing more. You can add sides, something I don't like, add on charges are anathema to me. I believe that you should be able to order a meal and get a meal, not guess if you need another side or two and I feel this sets people up to pay more than they intended. I also hate up charges for extra sauce or sour cream etc. I don't understand that model for a business. One of their patrons was sitting at a table alone and seemed to have ordered EVERY side. Luckily, Nando's provides all of their condiments free with your meal and there is a good selection. Score! The chicken was good, juicy, tender and well flavoured from my sauce choice. The veggies were surprisingly good! I was expecting limp flavourless blobs but I enjoyed them very much. My friend also enjoyed the chicken and the fries met expectations. I would definitely return, even if you will hear me grumbling about the extra charge for sides."

"First time at the restaurant though I've had the Nando sauce before. Ordered the chicken sandwich combo with the wedges and coleslaw in hot. Sandwich and wedges were good but coleslaw was flavorless. Got a lot for the cost and also got a dessert (custard tart) which was also very good! I will definitely go back!!"

"I am so disappointed. I ordered the 3 piece chicken tender platter . The chicken was so dry and hard I couldnt even break it to dip into the sauce. Even the biscuit was dry and it was obvious it had been sitting for too long. I used the drive throughat 4:30 pm so one would think the chicken, and the bun, would be fresh in order to be ready for the supper customers. I wont goto this Popeyes again."
