"I travel through the city of the northern beaches to go to this restaurant and I go quite regularly as it is one of my favorite places to eat in sydney. I accidentally discovered it online on the search for a Chinese restaurant that includes lamb...Backbone hotpot that I have only experienced in a beijing mongolian restaurant. the taste is delicious and I often buy some to take away. another favorit there are their slowly boiled pork breast as well as various vegetable dishes such as green beans stir fried with garlic. her peking duck is another pleasant choice when I have been with a group. that must be ordered in advance. the prices are cheap and the service is warm and friendly."

"New Shanghai is situated with many other shanghai restaurants around and this one stands out. It has great lunch specials including 10 buns for only $8.80 and comes with soup. It tastes great and there is a short waiting line. The menu has a lot...of variety and overall I would recommend to others to try."

"Not a bad yum cha. The restaurant is located inside RSL club so if you are not from the area you need to get your ID scanned to be able to enter the premises. The restaurant is quite sizeable and they even had tanks with lobsters and abalone. We ordered the usual: char gow, rice noodles with prawns, garlic chives and prawn dumplings, spinach dumplings, chicken feet, mango pancakes. I judge yum cha places by their chicken feet and it was just ok (didn't quite like the sauce which was too sweet and no spicy flavour) but other dishes were good. Mango pancake was a bit disappointing too, probably because it's not a mango season."

"OK, so I live 6 hours south of Sydney where there is a dearth of quality Asian food so perhaps I am easily impressed... However for $46 I had a feed that would have easily done 3-4 for my mate McGill"

"First recommended by a colleague, now I eat every night here when I work in the opposite. it has an uncomfortable façade, but hearty, large serving Malaysian dishes are served here. I love the mee goreng, fried kway teow, nasi goreng and sambal dishes....Sometimes they have hainan chicken rice or nasi lemak. the prices are really reasonable and it is convenient next to the railway station. it is a humble load with great Hawker style eating. very recommended for a quick lunch."
