"From the first day on we closed the Cortina into the heart and were completely overwhelmed by the cordiality of Bianca. Here we spent so many nice hours! Not only the delicious ice melted on the tongue, but also Bianca's affection made our hearts melt. Thanks to Bianca and the entire team. We look forward to more relaxing hours"

"Coburg – city of ice cream parlors. When my birthplace was known for the highest shoe store density per inhabitant, Coburg is trying to get the status of the most ice-creamed city south of the Weißwurstäquator. At a distance of not even eight minutes' walk, there are all eight ice cream parlors that are bugging around clientele. After a completely selfless Schlotztest in all the etablissements, the absolute favourite – the Cortina, also likes to be called “Cort” for locals. The Cort is located on the border between the Coburg shopping street Spitalgasse and the a little bit of adolescent stone path, known for small shops and the local celebration mile. Be it an archetype plan for ice cream parlours, the cort would fulfill most clichés... A long and narrow shop – yes. A series of mandatory square tables – yes. A very narrow ice counter in the front part of the shop – still one yes. Creepy thin paper napkins with the suction force of a floor tile – even here a smooth yes. Now you visit ice cream parlors less because of architectural achievements, but rather because of the ice. And here the Cort plays out all her trumps. The ice is just great! Self-made, creamy, sparkling, a large but not excessive selection, and above all the ice does not rush into its metal containers, strengthened by artificial stabilizers, emulsifiers and other -ores, until felt 30 cm above the freezer limit. Knatschbuntes ice cream is also in vain, instead the ice comes in natural colors and not E131 blue. The varieties are arranged between classic dairy and fruit ice cream varieties, up to Mozarteis, Yoghurette, dark chocolate and walnut meat ice cream. My personal favorite for “on the hand” are Malaga (with extremely many beautifully crisp rumrosins in it, which are not freeze-drying mumonia and milk rice (which actually tastes like fresh milk rice and also contains milk rice grains! The nice owners will sprinkle a little cinnamon on it on request. The bullet costs 1.20 euros. If one decides for a “seat ice” and takes place at one of the tables, one expects a large selection of different ice cups. In addition to the standard cups, which are known from almost every ice cream parlour, there are also tasty variations, such as the Copa Raffaello, which I offer, consisting of cream ice cream, Stracciatella, cream, many coconut rasps, a sphere Raffaello and Batida de Coco. Also highly recommended is the Mozart cup with Mozarteis, cream ice cream, cream, pistachio sauce and Mozart ball above. Most ice cups in the range cost 5,20 euros. As a Tübinger, you rub your eyes at the latest. The Cort is so popular not only because of the great ice, but also because of its charming owners. The two rugged older ladies who run the shop are always standing here personally and have probably grown up half of Coburg and even get younger. Here every wish is read from the eyes. Don't you like what's on the map? No problem, the bosses mix a wish ice cream cup as desired. A chocolate cup without chocolates, for me yogurt, walnut figs and strawberry sauce? Everything goes on request. Durable people receive any form of coffee specialties produced by an Italian screen carrier machine. For indecisions between ice cream and coffee, there are also ice cream coffee or (secret tip! a wonderful Affogato al Caffè – a ball of ice cream in a double espresso, especially fine with delicate chocolate ice cream. If you like it more alcoholic, you will also get the usual fifty shades of Aperol spray and art-related stem glass drinks with ice cubes. To do this, the bosses always submit a bowl of chips or peanuts to the house. In addition to the seats inside, there are also four high tables outside the door, two of which are equipped with bar stools. The interior of the guest hose is barrier-free, but the toilet can only be reached by steps. The high tables outside are also so semi for accessibility, but here you can pick up with a quickly created low table and, if desired, also with suitable seating. Reading the map is also not necessary for visual weakness, the bosses know their map better than their western pocket and like to tell what there is. I'm only half a year in Coburg, but the Cort belongs to it regularly. Whether for a quick espresso, a half-fast affogato al Caffè or for hand or seat ice, I'm just happy here. Could I give six stars, I would. That's how I have to leave it with five ice stars. Stay as you are, dear Cort!"
