"Will never return to this restaurantI ordered jambalaya the rice was undercooked and tasted like day old rice that was warmed in the microwave. The portions are very small and tasted nothing like jambalaya more like shrimp and sausage in ragu sauce. Very disappointed will never return"

"We live close to the Royal Oak and usually go there for Wing Night. I have eaten there with friends and hubby quite a few times and were looking forward to their version of a New Year's Eve celebration. We requested a particular table and made reservations beforehand. We arrived for dinner at 7 pm and found that our reserved table was given to a large group and were told there was a booth available which we took. We had the dinner which was included in our $40 ticket price along with a glass of wine. The dinner was very tasty. As the evening wore on, the live music set up which consisted of a one man electric organ player. The place was 1/4 full and the group that sat at our reserved table left early. The singer was great but the songs he played reminded us of being in a piano bar. Not one person danced to any of the music. During his intermission, the manager put on music from other celebrations, New York, New Orleans, etc which livened up the place a little. The place never got busy at all...we were bored. no atmosphere to bring in the New Year joyfully. Guess we expected too much to have a celebration. How can you dance to the theme song 'Welcome Back' (from the tv series Welcome Back Kotter) LOL. We will still go there as it's local but not for another New Year's Eve party.The staff is always friendly."

"Air conditioning was blasting right over our table. Asked for another table server told us we were welcome to look around the place for something, but the place was full...it isnt. He also promised us that he'd turn it down, he didn't until we asked another server to 20 minutes later. Had to pull my hoodie over my head to stay semi warm while I ate. Not once did anyone check on how we were doing after meal came."
