"Our meal was the best we've had in Armidale, and really enjoyable. My granddaughter and I both had the fish of the day which couldn't be faulted - moist and perfectly cooked. My wife had the duck which she raved about. At the suggestion of the restaurant owner, we had a local Verdelho which complemented the meal well. While the menu might not be extensive, the quality of the food was excellent, and the wine list interesting with both local, interstate and overseas wines. We will definitely return when we next visit Armidale, and recommend it to anyone looking for an excellent dining experience."

"Don’t do it. This was our third or fourth stay at this property and the stay this time was awful and really impacted on our Christmas. It is a basic hotel which in the past has been comfortable and clean. This time we were put in a room that was filthy and dark. The sheets were covered in actual mould and other dark stains, carpet stained, mould in the bathroom and the room smelt of old smoke. Service was lacking. While we understand it was Christmas time the hotel should not have taken bookings it wasn’t equipped to deal with. We tried to raise this with both the hotel and Rydges and our concerns weren’t addressed. I would stay somewhere else in Armidale. We left a day early cutting our Christmas break with family short."
