"We had the most amazing Sunday lunch yesterday. The staff were attentive, the shoulder of lamb and all the trimmings outstanding. The view was spectacular. The few showers we had when sitting outside made no difference to the ambiance and great afternoon we had. Will definitely go back again."

"We love everything about Le Vol au Vent, its site on the White Rock water-front, its excellent chef and his charming hostess/wife, and especially for its food. We came off a flight from Toronto on Sunday evening, September 6th, and headed straight for LVaV. Luckily we snagged the last available table for that time slot. We started of sharing a marrow-bone appetizer, a reminder of the dish my mother used to cook in Dublin. My husband had cervelles/brains as his main course. They were sizzling hot, cooked to perfection and delicious. I had the wild salmon, it came straight from the pan, under-cooked to the desired degree of silky rareness that I prefer, and enhanced with some of Michel 's secret and subtle seasonings. For dessert we shared a lovely tarte tatin that ushers in the 'season of mists and mellow fruitfulness ' that is Autumn. All was perfection. We left for a long line-up at the border, our spirits further lifted by CBC Radio One 's broadcast of the Bob Dylan Basement Tapes, a fitting musical coda to a lovely evening, thanks to the beautiful meal, dedicated, hard-working restaurateurs, the pale pink sunset. The only jarring part of the experience was the open coal, chemicals and goods train passing on the rail-way tracks across the road, right beside the water."

"We had an unforgettable dinner here. My mother is hard to hear, so I had asked a quiet table (something that is often not accommodated) and we sat at the quiet table.. in the wine cellar! The food was delicious and the service was on the next level. Sissy, our waitress, was super attentive and friendly. Thank you. We are definitely back!"

"Incredibly slow kitchen. Next time I'll try the food court. That was my one star review. Now I know better Four stars: The service was great. An NFL game was on the very big screen, and were given great seats without asking. It took what seemed like hours for food to arrive. The server kept us up to date. When the food did arrive, the sever told us they are training two new cooks. They got the salad wrong, so the chef was called to do it right. The salad was quite good. I was there for an Indian taco. It was one of the best I've ever had. Upon leaving, they comped us our sodas"
