"Tendon Akimitsu is housed inside Ramen Nagi in Trinoma. It's similar to their NAIA 3 branch. It was named after Chef Akimitsu who conceptualized and made this brand in Tokyo, now in Manila.

Having the opportunity to try good tendons both in Manila and Japan, it's an easy review. Although tendons in Japan tend to have their own version for each restaurant. It doesn't have a standard, but its based on how the chef want it.

The Nami Don was abit bland. It was tempura of mixed seafood like scallops, shrimps, and squid battered and fried. The brushed sauce was salty. Not every piece was coated thus became part salty and bland. The crunch was the usual tempura, but didn't hold the texture even after the coating.

The ebi tempura set consists of prawns, okra, sweet potato, and eggplant. It has the same batter as the tendon bowl, but differ in sauce. For this, the sauce was served separately like any other tempura. I find the sauce on the salty side, not our usual tempura sauce that is sweet, savory salty.

The only highlight for me is the Salmon Auburi. Its basically a maki with vegetables topped with salmon fillets that is torched then slathered with teriyaki sauce and cheese-mayo sauce. It's just an explosion of flavors in my mouth. It's creamy, savory, cheesy maki. It's just as good as it gets.

Unfortunately, most of what we had is on the salty side. It doesn't fit on how I prefer it.

#TheFoodCrawlers #SplatMNL #OngsFoodprints"

"Food is just ok: service, interior and ambience have taken a dive over the years. If you're ok with wait staff just dumping your orders in front of you (after taking their sweet time serving it up), without any idea that you actually need tissue and chopsticks, then this place will do. Otherwise, skip this place."

"After running errands, I wanted to have some noidles for early dinner. I headed over to the 1st floor of The Block just to see what was new. I decided to try Nadai Fujisoba. The menu had a lot of choices but what I liked best was that they had mini bowls of their rice meals. So I ordered Cold Soba and Kimuchidon which was pork with kimchi on top. I enjoyed every bite and slurp of it. The service was also good and the servers were always looking around to see if a customer needs them. I didn't even have to ask for my sobayu after I finished the cold soba because they brought it in right away."

"As I browse for another restaurant where we can eat new dish, my officemate suggested we should try Mr. Kimbob. It's affordable and their dish is healthy. We order their famous bibimbop. The dish is a complete meal, it has rice, meat and lotsa veggies and it is serve in a sizzling plate. Don't cha forget to put their famous korean sauce to the bibimbop. It enhances the taste for me. I really love their chapchae, the taste and texture is super good."
